Easter Holiday To Hell!
All the family were really looking forward to our Easter break to the Isle Of Wight, as we had never been before.
We discovered Parks Resorts and their site promised so many activities and fun for the kids, so we thought we got lucky! We booked our pitch, got to the site and were promised that our activity pases would be awaiting us together with our arrival pack upon arrival to the reception.
Up to an hour after our arrival, the pack never came the pases were never brought to us, until we decided to walk to the reception to collect them in person. Only to discover that the pool, promising to have many water activities the children were so much looking forward to was not available and the pool was actually closed, due to a technical fault as we were told!
We had the option to travel to another site to use their pool that looked like a large pond, but any way. The night mare was upon leaving to discover that the parking was an organised disorganisation and it took us over an hour to get out of the car park and having to move at least 15 vehicles to do so!
Easter Vigil, we came back to the pitch looking forward to warm showers after the day out and attending a local Abbey to join the Easter service being Roman Catholics. We had not realised that the showers had absolutely no hot water at all, in fact it was litreally freezing. having got over that shock we decided to start the motorhome up again and travel to the abbey. Only to discover that the van was actually stck in the mud ane would not move an inch. No warden available on site, no assistance and motor home stuck in the mud! The crazy thing was that it had not even rained! That's how appauling the pitch quality was!!
Conclusion, if you plan a trip to the beautiful island don't count on Parks Resorts to help you enjoy it! It is such a pity that a beautiful Island is poluted with such standards!

....My question is:
Having no support on site at all, what would have happened if I really needed to leave the site to get the ferry back home, or if I had an important appointment? Has anyone ever had such experiences before? I'd love to know, Thank you.

Carlo,
That sounds like an awful experience, and we're sorry to hear that your Easter weekend has been spoiled. We've just left a Spanish campsite where families have been enjoying both a holiday weekend and the religious festival.
Don't be put off from the world of caravanning by a bad experience: if you use Caravan Club campsites, you can be sure of a much better standard of facilities and support from wardens.
