2 Weeks ago , we went to the Millenium Centre in Cardif to see the Welsh National Opera company in Madam Butterfly. It was a Xmas present from our Eldest Daughter & SiL.

I have to say that it was a wonderful production, filled with the best of emotions generated by Puccini's great composition. I would reccomend anyone to go to see it when it tours around the country. The cast were excellent & on top form vocally' The WNO Chorus were on top form in the 'Humming Chorus' Yes there is a reason why they are considered World Class as shown in this production . The Welsh National Orchestra were as usual in a class of their own especially in the interval piece of the Second Act.

I sincerely suggest that you take a chance to see them if they get to your area . If you want to see them in their own Home  There are quite a few caravan sites around the Cardiff area Some good Cls & the CC site at Tredegar House , all providing easy access into The Bay where there is ample parking & plenty of eating places within a short walk to the Centre , & on a nice day you can make it an early start & enjoy the activities around the Bay

Of course the Millenium Centre is not just an Opera House It provides a varied program of West End shows, concerts Ballets & Comedians to provide a very good program of events . If a show is not for you they have concerts in the foyer which are free on entry.

To see what is on there see this website   wmc.org.uk    . You will not be disappointed

We saw Madame Butterfly this week too, sung by Opera Singers from Belarus but your Welsh National Opera Company are brilliant.

I like Opera. We have seen several at the Royal Albert Hall and a few years ago were able to go to Gyndebourne as a special treat paid for by the company we worked for. Magical. People often turn their nose up at opera but if they could be persuaded to take
a risk I reckon a large proportion would be enthralled by it.
