Awash in the Algarve

Our barometer is stuck at 978 millibars and we’re being lashed by strong winds and heavy rain, interspersed with tantalizing glimpses of the sun. We’re on a campsite at Conceição de Tavira just inland from Cabanas de Tavira, and along the road from Tavira itself.

We managed to enjoy a few days of Spring-like sunshine (the mimosa is starting to bloom) before the forecast week of bad weather started. Luckily our campsite is one of the few on the Algarve with level hardstandings and paved roads, although the petanque court is beginning to fill up.

The site is the busiest we’ve ever seen it: Cath says it’s my fault for recommending it in ‘Trip to Portugal’ discussion last year.

Oh dear Chasncath, you see after some fog this AM we've had a lovely sunny day, I've been gardening, coat off, sitting on the bench with a coffee.......Laughing
