Last Post from Portugal
Tonight’s our last night in Portugal: tomorrow we cross the bridge back into Spain. We arrived here in Monte Gordo two days ago having travelled along the N roads from Alvor to avoid the incomprehensible toll system on the A22!
Many of you will know the quirky municipal campsite at Monte Gordo with its ‘clean-but- dated san facs’; the danger of getting bogged down in the sand, and the exotic electrical hookups. Cables must be strung in mid-air from your ‘van to the vintage supply boxes. ( mains tested ok for polarity and earthing)
The bill for three nights came to 25 Euros ( inc Elec and free Wifi) so we can’t complain. The staff are all friendly and hard-working; there’s great access to the beach and trails; you fall asleep to the sound of the waves *, and you can cycle all the way to Villa Real de San Antonio.
Here are some photos.
