Springtime at the NEC
We have just returned from a three day outing to the Spring Show at the NEC in Birmingham, and very enjoyable the show was. We stayed on the Club temporary site in what was anything but Springlike weather with temperatures barely above freezing. Although we have nothing but praise for the hardworking Club staff who endured very testing conditions with their usual great fortitude and humour, we can't say we have any praise for the abysmal electric supply. Supposedly at a maximum of 6 amps, this ofcourse simply continually tripped as we happy campers all tried to get our share, and no doubt some tried to get more than their share! Our Gaslow cylinders ran out and couldn't easily be refilled. So there we were sitting, rather cold, in our lovely motorhome, enjoying(?) the music from the marquee, or at least the bass guitar sounds, and wondering how many amps the band were consuming. Why has the music(?) to be so loud. When will they learn that in music, quality does not necessarily mean volume. Ah well, I suppose it's all part of the game.
Tara for now,
The (grumpy auldyins.

So it was £30 a night to drop the legs in a car park with no electric hook up, limited toilet facilities?

Write your comments here... Im inclined to agree, £30 a night is a bit OTT. I thought the caravan club was trying to promote cravanning at a 'reduced' fee. I was 'thinking of taking the caravan up to the NEC but it was either £90 on accessories or parking
the caravan with limited facilities. Well im not telling you what i chose, but i now have a lovely pair of director chairs to use this year.I wasn't impressed with the new 'Eternity' slide out caravan. The quality and finish is not there yet. But im sure they will adress this issue when they start production.
Apart from that, it was a good show.

We looked at staying at NEC but thought the price a bit steep, we then decided to stay 5 nights at Chapel Lane for only £77, alright we had to make our on entertainment but only 20mins from the NEC no trouble with electrics and warm shower block.
