Caravan and NYMR steam - an ALMOST period video!

I came across this video (I hope you can view it!) from 2007. We were travelling up to stop at Wardle Rigg Farm CL site in Newtondale Forest. having passed through Pickering and heading on up the road to Newton-on Rawcliffe, we came to the level crossing at Newbridge nearly a mile north out of Pickering. I had seen the train sitting in the station and was aware it was about to set off.

Well, I pulled up just by the level crossing, and sure enough, the gates closed as I pulled in. My luck was in! Out wiith the camera!

Personally I think this is so close to being something quite memorable, as the Black 5 loco and the coaches are in BR colours, which could easily have been correct for the age of the caravan - 1957. It is unfortunately let down slightly by the 1999 Peugeot 406 we had at the time!!

However, apart from that, it was quite something watching this video on the laptop later, and gave me that little 'something' feeling that is hard to describe. Steamaholics and those who love older and period things may understand!

I meant to add this photo to show the caravan and train side by side!
