Hi Folks, This is an Appeal on behalf of my Best Friend, We are all Members of a Small Local Caravan & Camping club ( My Friend & her Family being the only Campers now) They wont mind me saying but they are not exactly rolling in it! but they get by OK & manage to get a Few weekends away a year with us in their Tent Which has seen them through Wind/Snow & of course rain. they have been saving very hard for a old Caravan to get them Started But something always gets in the way & gobbles up the money. They have 3 Boys age 3,16 &18  (the older two are too cool for Camping) She is desperate to own a Caravan & says she can't stand another season in the Tent. This is the APPEAL part! Does anyone Know anyone who has an old Caravan that is too loved to send to the Scrapyard?Or maybe retiring from Caravaning, anything would be considered Obviousley In a Clean Dry state And please not one thats had Chickens living in it! Please get in touch Via My email if you have any sugestions or idea's how we can make this happen. Thankyou. ecinaj@ntlworld.com

Hi - well there is the classifieds section on here: http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/CaravanClubApps/Applications/caravan-classifieds/classifieds.aspx

If you look for the "Member's ad" - no guarantees that will mean zero chickens, but at least if it's a Member's ad they'll be well looked after, happy chickens - and you might find a friendly seller as well ;0)

You friends could try putting a 'Wanted' Ad on their local Freecycle.  We have quite an active group in this area, and caravans have been given away a couple of times.  Find out your nearest group on Google.  It may also be worth putting a 'Wanted' Ad on
a supermarket notice board.  There might just be someone with an old van, who perhaps doesn't think it's worth selling, but who would be quite happy to give it away to someone who would love it!

How about a trailer tent ? not quite a caravan but its off the floor for sleeping, and cheaper to buy a good one second hand than a good second hand C'Van!!

    Just a thought, happy hunting

A pal of mine just bought a 4 berth for £500 off e bay. Ideal for his wife & grandchildren at holiday time. Says it is probably 20 year old but clean & tidy.

Thanks Spender, I will Check that out on thier behalf! Trouble is when your on a low income £500 is a fortune to them. But that does seem a rather good price! Cheers Jan
