We've just returned from a fantastic holiday in the Loire Valley in France, the only problem was that when we arrived we noticed that our Heki was missing! After travelling for 18 hours we were a bit weary but the maintenance staff at the site Chateau de la Grenouillere were brilliant, they came and did a temporary fix until we could get sorted.  Unfortuately, the local caravan shop couldn't get us a replacement Heki until the middle of September ... it seems that the caravan industry in France go on holiday for the whole of August! The fix lastest us well but blew off on our drive to Calais, but once again the staff at the La Bien Assise site were very helpful and did another temporary fix just before the rain started! We managed to enjoy our holiday without having to return home early and with the caravan still completly dry inside. Imagine our suprise when we met another family who not only had also lost their Heki but they had heard of yet another family who had lost theirs!

this story reminds me of when my dad lost his then called skylight on the way home from our summer cc summer 2weeks holiday rally , I always double check ours are locked tight as have seen a few wide open and I wouldnt think they are cheap to replace , caravanning
in the 70`s was a lot simpler as a teenager , didnt have to take my turn at towing , just make sure my Dad didn`t get lost !! Always dreamt of having a caravan when I grew up , still have a photo on cliff top of site where dad hitched up our 5 berth ace but
forgot to put hand brake on the car a morris marina special  , gulp, boyfriend to the rescue jumping in car to stop it , phew , happy memories .
