First time towing a caravan!
Hi all...
Im abit nervous about tomorrow, we are going to blackpool in our elddis crown 2000 for the first time. We did have a pennine folder camper but due to my hubbys medical condition worsening the pennine was just too much what with doing the canvas and all the bits inside. I have often seen caravans swaying from side to side on the motorway and im hoping thats not going to happen to us!
Has anyone got any advice in general as we are fairly new to caravaning as we only got the pennine in January!
Thank you.

I assume you are going on motorways to Blackpool and if so watch out for the bow wave of air as an articulated lorry/coach thunders past you. But if you are doing the correct speed and all is well with weights/loading etc just enjoy the ride.

As mentioned above, most of those you have seen swaying from side to side were probably going too fast for the size and make-up of their unit. If your tug and van are set up correctly you should have no worries. Just enjoy the drive like the rest of us.

Thanks everyone for your kind reasuring words. The journey couldn't have gone any better and we really enjoyed towing. Your right about the winds though, got abit hairy once, when we was going over a big open bridge and all the lorrys going passed like we
was standing still !!I thought we might have to stop at least once to adjust the load but we got the load right and our Elddis Crown 2000 towed a dream. i take it everyone loads the heavyist stuff over the axle? which is what we did.
All we got to do is tug her up for winter as our next holiday is to the isle of white next easter.

I can reccomend the Club towing course to anyone who is starting out. We also moved on from a pennine due to health reasons.
Our caravan is a large Senator Louisiana. We attended the course in Newark and have since both "tugged" from Cambridgshire to Devon several times.
