Houghton Mill Club Site
Gorgeous site, and highly recommended! Me and the wife and our 2
children visited in October and the facilitiesand surroundings can
only be described as fantastic!Ideal for visiting the nearby town
of Huntingdon and the city of Cambridge! Surrounded by a beautiful
working watermill and river and a warm welcome in the local village
pub.All the little cottages with thatched roofs made it look
idyllic! Cant wait to get down there again in May!

Club Together may not be an English or grammer lesson, but just because CC members wish to communicate with each other, by the written word, there is no reason whatsoever to encourage a lowering of the standards of our great English language.

I agree this is a beautiful site, we stayed here a few years ago and had lovely weather. The tea shop at the mill is a bonus, the cream teas are moreish - the only problem being that it was not open every day! Lots of interesting places to visit and several
gentle walks around the pretty village.0 -
I agree. A lovely site. I am pleased to be going again in two weeks!

Myself and my husband visited this site last year and totally agree. It is a lovely site in a lovely area. We remember it for another reason as well though. Firstly, we tow using a white transit van, new and unmarked, but a van none the less. The look
on the wardens face when we drove down the drive and the relief when we walked into the office was the cause of much laughter. Secondly, it was our fist experience at puttine up an awning!!! After 2 hours we gave up, the following day we watched as another
van pulled up and the occupants had a full awning, much like ours, up in about 10 minutes flat. We were shamed into having another go, and , thought about it logically, laid out the poles and other bits and pieces and proceded to argue for about 2 before
and to the amusement of many other, finally putting up our first awning.0 -
Have visited this site many times, but now live just 3 miles away so can enjoy the lovely surroundings whenever we like! Great for walking and cycling, and there's even a National Trust Teashop near the site entrance. We know you will enjoy a stay here.
Use the new guided busway from St Ives Park & Ride for a day out in Cambridge.0 -
A rally is a get together of like minded fellow caravanners for some relaxation and light hearted fun.Me and my wife were apprehensive about them at first,as there is very rarely any provision of electric hook up and you are totally reliant on your leisure
battery, unless you are lucky enough to have some solar inverters or a generator.Water is of course provided, but you must have use of your own toilet.Facilities are provided for toilet emptying.Usually rallies are organised in some very interesting locations!
One of the latest ones we attended was at Eden Camp in North Yorkshire.A former prisoner of war camp from WW2,which is now an award winning museum.Unlimited access to the musuem for the duration of the rally and a massive assault course and adventure playground
for the kids to play on.All for £22 for the weekend! great value for money. Give it a try and join your local centre via the C.C website.I'am a member of the East Yorkshire Centre, and i have a lovely collection of rally plaques building up on the mirror in
my van! Great fun and great times to be had! By the way, thanks for the non constructive and insulting comments on my post on Houghton Mill, whoever wrote them!0
