One of the pleasures of touring in our motorhome is meeting other ‘tourers’ and making new friends. Over the years, we’ve met lots of other campers with whom we have enjoyed conversation, food and wine.

We keep in touch by email and text so we know where our chums are and where they’re going. Sometimes by accident, and sometimes by slight adjustment of plans, we meet up on campsites around Europe to renew acquaintance, share a meal and a glass of wine.

For two weeks we have been in the Murcian village of El Berro, on the edge of the Sierra Espuna National park.

We’re camped at Camping Sierra Espuna, an ideal spot for walkers and cyclists.

Our old friend Isobel & Morton passed through on their way to Cordoba, then Ray and Pat arrived. They were followed by Keith and Carol. We’ve been out walking in the hills together. We don’t do the all-day, take a compass walks, just an hour or so in the surrounding hills. Here are some photos.

The girls manage to talk and walk!

We have names for our walks - this is on 'barking dog walk'

But now our chums have gone, we're back to walking alone.

We're moving down to the coast tomorrow- who knows whom we'll meet!

Thanks for the photos Chas & Cath, Well I trust your birthday went well and that the cold snap there has not ben too bad for you. It will be pleasantly warmer on the coast for you I am sure. We shall definately stop at El Bero next time we are in Murcia
and the new greater range of gears I have fitted to our new bikes will get well used, as will the walking boots. Very cold here still! Just off to check our van. Regards, Roy

Thank you Roy, we hope we can meet up sometime when our paths cross! We're now at Camping Bella Vista at Aguilas and have had a nice chat with the couple next to us who are on their first post-retirement expedition to Spain and Portugal.

Chas's birthday was a low-key affair compared to previous years!

Yes it would be great to meet up, one day I am sure it will happen. Not sure about Croatia next September now with all the border issues in that area. We may end up back in Spain again. Our plans for the Italian lakes in May/June have had to be delayed this year so we shall hopefully spend some time around th UK instead.

I have vague memories of photos of lots of people in the bar for one of Chas' birthdays, perhaps it was the 70th. Enjoy Aguiles, is the train still there?

Have you seen the thread about Spanish Gas Certificates on the forum?

    Regards, Roy
