We’ve spent the last 5 weeks camping on the Côte d’Azur. We started out at Saint Clair, then moved along the coast to La Croix Valmer. For the last 11 nights we’ve been at Camping de la Baie in Cavalaire sur Mer, a lively seaside resort.

We came for more beach time

We like to stroll around the port,

and to watch the boats coming into the marina.

However, one of the reasons for moving sites, just 2.8 miles, was to be in Cavalaire for the big music night on the 21st. All around the port, in the open spaces, the cafes and restaurants, there are bands playing. The main band were very good

But a quartet of sixty-somethings drew a big crowd playing blues and rock’n’roll

Not satisfied with that, we caught the free bus back to La Croix for an hour and a half of jazz at the beach.

Last Sunday it was the festival of St Peter, so the local community got dressed up in traditional costume to march through the town

To dance,

And then lots of boats, including the lifeboat and the Porqerolles ferry, sailed in procession around the bay with flags flying and music playing

Our campsite this morning was emptying out as us ACSI oldies made way for high-season holiday makers. Already the campsite was ‘morphing’ into a holiday camp.

Looks like the perfect place for relaxation before the mad summer rush.

Hi Chas & Cath, fantastic photos are you able to process all thats needed to alter & upload these from the sites wifi? I have never managed to get such good wifi to spend the time needed to do all that. We shall definately one day visit this area & asking
you for details of that secret site you use. Enjoy the remainder of your time away.

    Regards, Roy

All done with campsite wifi, Roy: some free - some paid for. Right now we're at the municipal campsie at Carpentras where the wifi's free as is use of the municipal swimming pool next door.

Thanks for the 'likes' everyone :-)

Thanks for this CC. Great photos. I love reading about other people's trips. Helps pass the rainy Scottish days when we are stuck at home between our own journeys.
