First trip in our Coachman
We returned to caravanning at the end of 2014 when we took delivery of our Coachman Festival at Glossops in Derbyshire. They were brilliant, by the way.
We stopped overnight in their compound to sort out any issues then the next day headed off to the club site at Castleton.
A couple of issues appeared but where mostly sorted out. The only outstanding one concerning the working of the supplemental electrics on the truck which didn't.
Having the first tow of 'Flo', as she is called, via the Snake Pass was a bit of an experience but managed OK. Called Flo because then we can tell people we are going with the Flo.
Castleton is a beautiful place and a great site. We visited Speedwell Cavern and Peak Cavern where they were preparing the cave entrance for a Christmas Carol Concert. Had a wander round the town and bought some souvenirs for our grandchildren.
I had resurrected a Fiamma Caravanstore awning that we had kept for many years since our last caravan in 2005 and it worked well to keep us dry whilst boarding our home. Flo was excellent.
We would need to go back to Castleton to explore the hills and walks when we have more time.
Having arrived home via Stockport (not a nice place to tow through) we had the excitement of using the mover for the first time to get up our steep drive. No panics. The Powrtouch EVO worked just fine.
Now for our next trip to Newport over New Year.

Chasncath to the rescue with pics! It's a pity this can't be sorted by the CC as it's quite an effort to do a story and add photos. Thanks
DavidRose, your trip sounded good, hope the next one went well!To see the rest of David's photos properly, click on the photo and select 'view in new tab'. Brue is right: the photos facility on 'Your Stories' is long overdue a fix.
