Day Three:
I am sooooo at home!! I LOVE my caravan!! Claire, with her husband Vinny and father and mother, Peter and Sally, have all made me really welcome - and even my husband Patrick is beginning to think it will all be OK! I'll admit I was a little unnerved by the filling of the water barrel as it's the only thing that seems a real palaver - but Vinny has promised to help me until I get the hang of it, which is very kind of him. I’m already sensing that the caravanning community is a friendly one - and if the worst comes to the worst I can always ease up a bit on the personal hygiene and use the shower at the Auditorium!
I really love all the secret storage spaces in the caravan, ingenious little hidey-holes where I can squirrel stuff away. All the clothes, cosmetics and Christmas pressies I have brought with me seem to have miraculously found a home and I feel very organised and settled in. Everyone seems a little worried that I might exceed my electrical capacity - but I'm not planning to use the oven (tempting though it is, being brand spanking new) and the hob/microwave won't be overworked either as I want lose at least a stone on a raw food diet. That’s the intention anyway…but with a huge hypermarket about five minutes away, crammed with tempting Christmas goodies, my good intentions may be thwarted!
What I'm most pleased about with the caravan is how cosy and warm it is (I've actually had to turn the heating down) and I really like the window blinds too as they give total privacy. This is a small site taking only take five caravans (and I have to say I feel totally safe) but it's still comforting to know I can batten down the hatches and just hibernate in my new home if I want to...

I liked seeing your 'cats'. We travel with a real one, a black smoke Devon Rex called Smokee and I write stories about sites we visit, generally on the continent. I will follow your stories with interest, Regards, Roy
