Now that's strange! I can see TG dog but am still seeing Pippah's Barn Owl! What the heck's going on?

Clear your cache nellie, it may work, if not press F5 on your laptop that should do it.....

I cannot change my avatar when using iPad, only when using Mac Book. No idea why......

Have tried doing it with F5 but no joy. Not sure how to clear my cache, as I'm worried that I might loose stuff lodged in there.

A cache is nothing more than a holding place to help load pages faster, you can delete the complete cache without losing anything of importance. As you browse the cache will re-populate again.
So how do I do it on my laptop. I'm using Chrome as my search engine

I don't know if it will look the same on your lap top but on my pad, using Chrome, there are three vertical dots to the right of the browser bar. Click on these and it brings up the menu. One of the items is history. Click on this and it gives you the option
to delete browser history.0 -

Just adding to Steve's helpful post. Top righthand corner, three dots symbol. Click on there, see "more tools" click on this. You'll see "clear browsing data." this includes cached images. Make sure you don't tick the boxes for anything you want to keep, then proceed. I lose a few things like my local weather point on the BBC but it's not a problem to reset. We looked at losing our printer connection, previously mentioned and we've solved that (my fault!)

Done it now, thanks, Steve & TW. Now can I see pippah's dog, which if I remember was her old avatar a while back.
I don't know what else that I've lost though.

Apologies if I am telling you things you know already, but this may help some understand what is going on.
In order to help pages load more quickly, devices such as laptops, computers, phones etc have something called cache memory. Essentially this consists of bits of information which your device collects, noteably (but not exclusively) graphics/pictures.
When you load a web page, to help a page load quicker, it loads the information you have on your device (the cache). if you are all seeing different pictures, it is basically what your device has loaded into its memory to help the pages load quicker.If you press ctrl + F5 this will force your cache to 'refresh', therefore you will essentially be asking your device to reload the website from scratch for that particular page. However, if you want the device to reload all images from scratch on all pages
you visit, you would be better off by going in to the settings and doing it manually.
THIS website explains how to do it. Each browser (I.E., Firefox, Safari etc) has it's own cache, so scroll down on the website link for the one you use.Hope this helps someone - apologies if I am 'showing granny how to suck eggs' -

If you want to know how to clear the cache, click on the link in my above post. That should give you the correct process, but you'll have to scroll down to the browser you use. If you use more than one browser/search engine you may need to clear the cache
