Can someone tell me how often does a expert answer questions on ask an expert live, as there are members out there that want answers pretty much straight away.

I don't know, KG, but it's only for certain subjects and not general use. The next session is about Social Media on 12 Sept.

I'm also not sure why people are adding to the "ask the expert" archives, surely this should be closed until the results of recent live sessions are added? These two sections are causing confusion.Undecided If
you want a prompt answer to other questions just put them in the main forum discussion area underneath the heading that applies.

I don't think they are reading
    this post

The "Ask The Expert" section is only to be used to ask questions on the subjects and experts nominated by Forum Admin. This section is not to be used for general discussions.

    Thanks

Seems to cause a heck of a lot of confusion yet the instructions are clear.

I think it needs clearer guidance so that others don't respond to the questions. It's for questions only.

Maybe a champ or management member could tag all the none relevant posts with an 'idiot' tag that may help. . . .Is that too simplistic maybe?LaughingLaughing

It's difficult to make it any clearer that the Ask the Expert LIVE Section is for specific events as notified by staff, even with the attempts to draw attention to the instructions.  Any other questions need to be posted in the general discussion area.

I'm completely at a loss as to how anybody can think that posting a question in the Archive Section would be appropriate and I did ask that this section be simply locked and 'read only' but am told that this isn't possible. Sad

As this thread is about the forum, I'm bound by instructions to move it into Help and Feedback Section.

Many thanks for your input Jill.

People are still not reading the instructions and have been posting on the archive thread this evening.

I think the archive bit needs "please do not post in this area."

Wow  - I didn't know this section even existed. Thanks for that, maybe I will post my questions here instead of general chat. After all isn't that what the chumps do? Move things to the wrong category, on a mere whim,  despite theOP wanting it on general chat?

The person you rudely call "chump" is a moderator, who sensibly moved the thread to the right section which hopefully will give some feedback to the CC.

Redface, that's not the first time you've been offensive to the Champions who do their best to keep CT orderly.

I can see why you chose your username. Your face certainly should be red.

The champions have a job to do.

A decision sometimes needs to be made that you may or may not agree with.

Three choices. Accept the decision, complain to the community manager  or leave the forum

Abuse is not acceptable under any circumstances

"Ask the Expert" and that is what posters do. Surprise, surprise! Perhaps a little more thought on the Section title would have helped.

And yet, a member calls fellow posters "idiots" on page 1 and gets 5 'likes'.........and no feedback given.

The lunacy that is CT with lack of management control and posters deliberately stirring things up while chasing round in circles has got to me. Good luck to you, Burts et al. I'll be back.

The "breakaway cable" thread is featuring in the towcar section and in the archive section which is why the archive bit needs attention. If you click on the archive thread you can see it running there too. If the CC can't shut this bit down it will continue to confuse. I found it confusing thinking that people were posting in the archive bit, so apologies for missing the other duplicate thread.
