Caravan Club website
Does anyone else have a problem with this website using Internet Explorer?
Every time I log on or change heading I get a message saying Internet Explorer has stopped working, close aplication. Very annoying!

Try clearing the cache.
IE 11 should then work just fine.

I have moved your thread here as this is the correct place to give feedback on Club Together.
In my experience Internet Explorer is problematic on many different forums. As a result I tend to use Chrome which I find much more reliable. I am sure that Microsoft would prefer us to be using their new browser Edge?

Would using "Edge" be something of a precipitous experience?

I use Chrome too, much better than IE and as for Edge... don't get me started but I think David is right about Microsoft not bothering with IE fixes any more especially now they can make money from people changing to W10 and Edge.

I obviously frequent different forums to you David.
This is the only forum that I know has serious problems with IE.
It is extremely rare for me to see any IE comments on other forums...as I say we obviously use different forums.
A thought...is the problem IE or is the problem the forum!?
Obviously Edge has many problems especially for 'normal' users.
PS. Has taken me 4 attempts to edit this post twice for spelling errors!

You cannot create links with IE >test<
peedee
And that is the major problem with other forums is the difficulty in cutting and pasting especially if using IE11 in Windows 8 or 10. Never had a problem in previous systems. Some IP Boards have a method of reducing the posting pane to plain text (for want
of a better technical term which does allow the posting of links which become live once you switch back) Likewise posting pictures can be difficult. Chrome seems to work pretty well with Club Together so I don't see any reason for using anything else, especially
as Microsoft don't seem to be interested in resolving the problem, at least not according to what their own staff post on their technical help forum!!!David

David, I hate to be boring but the list of problems is long if using IE 11 on this forum.
There is no such problem on any other site that I use....about 6 on a day to day basis and quite a few more on a weekl;y basis.
I use 3 different computers with W7, W8.1 and W10.....all with IE 11. The problems are the same on all with this forum.....and other PCs before.....but no problems at all with the CC site in general.
I see you use another browser and not IE!
PS. Three efforts on this post to effect one spelling edit

I can only speak as I find and on Caravan Talk/Motorhome Talk if I wish to post a link in IE11 I have to activate the BBCode mode, which works but should not be required. Likewise photographs have to be loaded in the same mode. Have you tried Chrome?

I have never been on either of the two sites you mention presumably if they have the same problems as this forum they are possibly the same build!
I have only ever used IE from the beginning and with every version of Windows. Never seen the need for alternatives as they have worked as well as any other method.
My frustration with the CC forum is total and sadly aggravated by people who are happy to settle for all it's faults......which is the bit I don't understand!
I've wisely Deleted User most of my finger tapping and will try and not mention this subject again....thanks for your comments and obviously the work you put in to the forum.

Thankyou so much for telling us what we SHOULD be doing.
Here was me thinking we had freedom of choice.

I have always used Chrome on here with Windows XP, Vista. 7 and now 10 always had trouble with IE. For this Forum I have to use Safari on the iPad and iPhone..Another Forum I use it is a doddle can use any and post photo's, links and copy and paste without
problems.DianneT

Some forums run effortlessly on any browser, Dianne. One day CT might reach those dizzy heights.

@TinWheeler some people should be told....as most people have no idea how to use a Windows PC safely :-)

Should, nothing!
Your arrogance in suggesting people don't know what they are doing is astounding.
How about a helpful suggestion worded politely?

You should be using Mozilla Firefox...did you know that Chrome is bloated with tracking code...and as for using Windows...you should all be trying Linux if all you do is surf and use facebook and read emails.
Unfortunately this forum was set up with some technical problems in situ so most of us try to work around it. We're all looking forward to improvements but so far, after four years, we have to adapt the best we can. It's a case of finding out what works and how much we want to add on to our own systems eg some like using downloading sites for photos others don't.

Most people ? WoW I wonder who did the survey ?0 -
Rather than further verbal unpleasantries, what would be useful to know is the updated contact point with the CC for anyone having technical difficulties using this web site? I see there is no one on the list of staff champions in this category in the introduction
section. Could we have a contact point please?0 -
Yes, Justus. It's a bit OTT, isn't it? Still, we're told we mustn't go there.

Notwithstanding the mega-update just over a week ago, we are still weaiting for a properly functioning forum that was promised to be here nearly six months ago.

"Up and running". I'm reaching the point where I'd settle for up and slithering. I use 'slithering' as I presume we are barely past the primordial ooze stage.

No indication as to 'this year, next year, never'!!!!
Perhaps they are trying to arrange a meeting to decide when to have a meeting about a meeting to discuss the possibility of producing a survey as to whether members would consider a new forum too confusing and too adventurous to cope with!
I'd put more smilies but it's far too complicated on this forum!

The email updates started coming through yesterday evening, so it looks like it's been sorted!
