does any one else think 'general chat' needs tidying up?

If you include the three separate comments on COTY, half of the threads on the first two pages are eitheir moved or closed

makes it hard finding things like 'views from the farm' with Goldies wonderful photos

I'm sure that when the new forum comes along it will be easier so looks like we'll just have to put up with it for another year.

Yes agree, but there is inconsistenty with some posts closed that have " closed" after them and others that untill you get to the last post you then find out it is closed ,example being the two caravan tv program threads on this page

why can't  the closed threads be removed after say 12 hours

Perhaps some posters don't place the OP in the most appropriate section, requiring the mods to rock up and move it then close the thread in general chat. Leaving it untidy!

You beat me to it, RS. If threads weren't posted erroneously in GC, the untidiness wouldn't occur. Eventually those threads will drop off the bottom of the page.

This thread is a fine example.  Perhaps this should of been posted in "How to use Club Together".  The area designated for help, feedback and ideas.

Generally we try and leave moved and closed posts for two weeks before deleting them to make sure the OP has seen the change.

If you make a post on UKCampsites and the thread is moved you get an automatic notification by e-mail that the post has moved and where to. That is a much neater way of doing things if it were possible to introduce the same thing on Club Together.

it was posted here because it was a question about this section but you have a point - perhaps a case for suggestions on how to decide
where to post, although I would have thought some were rather obvious

SteveL, that's why I decided to leave it here. I thought it would get the point over better as to why General Chat becomes so untidy. Earlier whilst having a tidy of the categories I Deleted User 89 post moved notices. There are still a lot visible that are less
    than two weeks old.

This was precisely my point, things get posted and then moved all over the place.  I put something in general chat that was a comment on general chat and it got moved
