It's a sad day

I am a big fan of MH Fun and have also enjoyed CT over the last couple of years.
From a software perspective Fun wins hands down - no surprise there.
Members of the Fun forum also proactively seem to bring members together over a medley of social meets throughout the year in both the UK, Europe and beyond.
CT is free - Fun is not.
CT is not primarily Motorhome focused - Fun has a few caravanners but the title says it all.
As someone new to the lifestyle / hobby CT is a great place to learn.
Grumpiness, CT excels over Fun
Of course the above is only my humble opinion, however, I look forward to meeting some of the Funsters this year on a few of their rallies - so I still have much to learn.
There maybe a CT meet at the National, if so I hope it goes well (unfortunately we are booked into Kettlby Lakes on a booking we had to move from last year).
My closing view, CT has more work to do to build a more smart community but is a good forum that I like.

As they say-'a picture paints a thousand words' the ability to post a pic taken from an album without using a 3rd party is the best way. You see it as extra & not a replacement for CT.
I figured that HD. CT has its many detractors but they keep posting, something drives them to do that. I remember Highlandman, He was not happy the way CT changed back in the day, He hasn't posted since-you just got to respect that kind of decision making,
a man of His word, I liked Highlandman0 -
Most forums have their good and not so good points. This forum is no better or worse than many others. It really depends on how each individual views the calibre of discussion.
This is a very very basic forum, it was never intended to compete with any others in the web, it was merely implemented to give CC customers the opportunity to help each other enjoy and discuss their mutual hobby of caravanning. Yes there would have been much fewer posts, but quantity alone is not the judge of a good forum. Quality is what really matters.
In this the CC forum has been successful. !!
If the forum had stuck to the original implementation and not diversed into an all singing all dancing forum encompassing non - caravanning subjects there would have been little need to moderate or even upgrade the software.
Unfortunately the genie is now out of the bottle and there is no going back, so if the CC want to stay ahead of the game they should take a serious look at other forums in the sector and learn from what makes them appeal to the more experienced and discerning posting fraternity.
I post on a number of forums and this one is not as bad as some of you make out.
If the CC get their new forum right and address the many little foibles of this one, then it may attract back many of the more discerning posters who have chosen to post elsewhere.

I enjoy CT on the whole, and suspect like most posters have made the odd hiccup about where I have posted something, perhaps not got everything right. Depends how much it means to you, what value it is to you. A lot of posters have come and gone, some have
come and gone on a fairly regular basis, I have no doubts TF will be back.0 -
to all those who disagreed with me when I said that CT was the best forum about , that's fine , see ,we can disagree and still get on
It’s really no big deal HD, of course we can still get on.
Maybe after the system updates I will even agree with you.

Can I have it in writing you're not a 'leg humper' first

As Rowena's post was moved it shows the rules apply to everyone!

I think it was probably put in it's original place in error, so I've moved it to the correct section. I think it will stay in view in the main menu list for longer here now. Hopefully, people will be able to express their congratulations and write messages.

"The best forum on the net"...."The CC and/or forum belongs to the members"
Please, please wake me up the world is upside down.....Oh, "It's not the best and the CC club doesn't belong to it's members".....Thank goodness....what a nightmare!
PS. Let's get back to the really exciting topics like..."Toilet closing times' and 'Someone just walked on my pitch'

members will always leave , even some who have posted on this thread have thrown their arms in the air and "left" , but they come back ?,, why? , because CT is the best forum around
yes I have had posts moved ,removed and closed and yes it's a bit frustrating ,but it's not the end of the world ,and certainly not worth leaving a forum for .......I'm here to stay
I have missed something during the last couple of days here. something has gone before this post to warrant the post itself and the leaving of TF.
I have read all the posts relating to this topic and i have quoted HD's post above as the one with the most pertinent meaning.
In life things like this happen and life goes on.
I do note however that no Mods got involved in this post.

Harry, a Champion moved this thread here in the first place and DSB posted above. Therefore mods have been involved.
I would like to respectfully point out that if you are not aware of what went before, you are perhaps not best placed to judge which post has the most pertinent meaning.

Point taken TW
It just seems the topic has gone on now without a lot of relevance in some of the posts.
As for my comment "No mods got involved in this post" I only see DSB above and his and my post may have overlapped as when I first typed the post I was called away and saved my text and pasted it later on..

The OP may have meant the thread to be about TF's departure but unfortunately the title suggests many other things and i'm only sad that we have had to cancel our trip to the Lakes
However you'd have have been a lot sadder if you'd gone and because of the forecasted winds become involved win an accident. Don't blame you for being cautious. The Lakes will still be there for a future visit.
