I am looking for somewhere to base myself around Bishops Cleave as I shall be working in the area. Can anybody please offer advice? Thanks.

    You'll probably need to search
    here
this is in UK Holidays at the top of the page, cursor down to the CL section.

Peter, there are a couple of CLs near by, one at Swindon Village, Home Farm, and one at Presbury, Longmeade Fm. We'veu sed the latter and would certainly use it again. There is also of course the CC's Cheltenham Racecourse site and the C&CC's Winchcombe
site, both of which are not too far from Bishop's Cleave. When are you looking for a pitch in the area, as the R/C site is closed for the winter?

    Hi Peter,
You wrote that you "shall be working in the area".  Please note that CLs Owners are required to sign-up to the following operating conditions.  Rather than put a CL Owner in danger of breaching those conditions, it might be better that you look outside the CL network:
    - "Visitors must be touring for leisure..."
    - "Sites are for recreational use...

    See - http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/uk-holidays/certificated-locations/run-your-own-site/setting-up-a-certificated-location/

Doesn't seem a problem with staying on a CC site, as one our regular posters will testify!!Wink

However having said that we've been on numerous CLs where it is obvious that some of the vans on there are being used by people working in the area.

Sorry, nelliethehooker. I missed this comment. Home Farm is closest to where I will be working. Prestbury is not quite in walking distance, which would be perfect, but less than a ten minute drive which is
    great. What is security like?

Peter, it's not far off the main road but there is a closed gate into the site, which is behind the farm buildings, and the farm overlooks the pitches. Good walks from the site too if that's your thing. Why not have a look on Google Earth at the layout?

I've had a busy day and so not been able to respond to any messages. I really do have to say thank you for all the helpful comments. I took delivery of my new (2014) caravan and have been slowly learning about it. I'll probably wait until closer to Spring
before selling my old caravan. In the meantime, thanks again.

Sorry, didn't mean to embarrass anyone, just one of those  errors that happens with names that bothers me!
