It's taken us 3 attempts to find a CL in the area we wanted for the second week in August as the first two we tried were full. Is this because members are using CLs more because of the cost of club sites during the school holidays? Hope that other CL owners
are having plenty of enquiries.

That has reminded me we need to just give the two CL's a ring that we booked for our two week summer holiday as we booked them ages ago.  We prefer CL's and are happy to do basic, althogh we did price a club site as it's location was good but nearly choked
at the price.  We are going school hols (not by choice but we are meeting friends with children).

I wouldn't be surprised if more and more members are giving CLs a go Nellie. The one we are using next week used to be very quiet, but now it has hook ups it is much busier. Happy

Guessing Nell that it could be a little of all sorts of things including price and if your travelling as a couple you are looking for a little more peace and quiet.

We avoid all proper sites during school holidays as they wnat silly prices and prefer to use CLs without some kids cycling around at breakneck speed etc.

We looked at the Borrowdale CC site for mid July. Last year it wasn't high season but for the same week this year it is. Cost of one night is over £22 for a site without a toilet block. CL in area £11.50 pn. No contest is there? So no surprise that especially
in high season members are using CLs.

Hope those who are trying for first time are bitten by the bug.

Good news for CL'S if they are getting busier, I note from the latest magazine there are still many closing.  We are using 2 CL'S for our main holiday this year too.

About 10 new ones opening this month, but 17 closing, all but 4 of which are ones with EHU!Sad

Which part of the country are you holidaying in this year, H&T?

We are heading to Suffolk,  followed by a few days in Norfolk,  this year.

Lots of good CLs down that way, as we've found out in the last 3 yrs.

We have just returned after a month touring the Lake district, Scotland and the Peak district and of 9 sites only 2 was CC and that was only to use the washing machines. Using CL enabled us to spend the time away.

I will be away for almost 6 weeks July/August in Somerset and Cornwall. All 4 of my sites are cl's. I much prefer them to CC sites.

This weekend going to stay a a fairly new CL by Leiston (Fishers Field)  in Suffolk. Only a couple of miles from Minsmere and a pub 300 yards away!  No reviews yet so we shall see.
