When you submit a site review how long does it take before it appears in the site reviews section and why would it not be published if it was all positive?

I thought it was immediately?  I wrote one when we returned from Passage Farm on Monday afternoon  and it was online yesterday.

Immediately as soon as you press save.  Perhaps you were timed out or some glitch with IT.

i would agree with Oneputt. Happened to us a couple of times. Now always do them in a text editor and cut and paste. Spell checker works better there too.

Sometimes they are slow to load and if you press submit again multiple reviews will appear. But the time out could be the problem as others have said.

I too have lost reviews because of the time out problem so also do a cut and paste job now so that I am on the club site for the minimum time.

Do you mind? I don't wish to brag but I can use two fingers on each hand.

Not more problems associated with "time out" problems.

When is it going to end.

Typed with three finger on left hand and two on the right.

When the new system comes on stream, of course.Wink But when that is nobody is saying, as perhaps they don't really know.

Andy, I have just compiled a site report so thought i would time how long it would take to upload.

Looking at Oneputt's quote above mine didn't load because i had obviously been time out whilst wriiting it. If that happens you are taken back to the log in page but it is then to late because the report has gone. You have no choice but to start again if
you want to submit the report. Or if like me, you don't bother because of frustration over this silly "timed out" issue. No doubt somebody will come on here and say do the report in Word and copy/paste it but in this day and age why should you. If the system
was half decent it would realise you were working and this silly fault wouldn't occur.

When you write a review check out the details about adding a review (when you have clicked on the bit to start a review.) This states you will have 30 mins "on the page" to fill in the details, it's surprsing how quickly this time is used up. I don't copy
and paste anything on here as I try to keep things short but you might need to write down the points you want to cover first as an aid.

I wish there were more CL reviews, many don't get reviews at all.

.........and maybe there lies he answer as to why.

People will get fed up having their work wiped out without warning because of this sytem. Maybe if there was a pop up warning given like in many other sites (eg banks) the situation wouldn't arise.

I think you could be right Brue about lack of reviews. I try and do a review for every CL we stay on, and we add around half to a dozen new ones each year, but because of the time out it does make things much more difficult, to the point I must admit where
I have given up. I leave more reviews on the other forum I use now, Caravanchat, than I do on here. Can also leave photographs on there as well, plus of course reviews for none Club or CL sites. The other thing is people can comment and ask questions about
the place after the review is posted, which can sometimes prompt you into adding some important details. I hope for the sake of CL owners, who need all the help they can get with advertising that posting a review is made easier on here, once  promised update
    happens.Happy

My sentiments exactly. I too hope this silly glitch is wiped out.

By the way TTDA I have seen some of your reviews when looking at cl's

Hope they were useful.Happy We seldom pick one that doesn't suit us, and even if we did, would make the most of it! I usually have a browse
through whatever reviews there are for a CL new to us, and check out UKcampsites as well, as quite a few CLs are on there as well. There are a few fellow CT reviewers who share our likes and dislikes of certain aspects, so I have come to trust what they write!

The time out really doesn't bother me too much and I hope it doesn't put reviewers off having a go at writing one. The obvious answer is to keep the review reasonably short.Smile

Timeouts suggest to me that reviews need to be more succinct.

If the fault had been sorted a long time ago then short reviews wouldn't be necessary. Looking at reviews on other websites sites, they are not short so I don't think the length should come into  it.

    Just fix the problem.

A couple of hundred words should be sufficient for a review. People don't want to plough through 'War and Peace'.

Of course there are probably a lot of reasons why people don't write reviews from don't want to share my favourite to can't be bothered and all reasons in between.  I would rather write what I believe to be an honest account of the
site than post in the stories section Surprised

May have cracked it, on the fifth time of trying logged in on windows 7, typed it in and it flew and was accepted staight away, maybe the glitch is on Windows 10..By the way it was Holly Tree Cottage. Upper Denby  W. Yorks
