H&T, so it was you that was on the phone to Nicola just as we were leaving. It would be better if you contacted me by e-mail so I could pass
on tips. If you wish to do that then Ro will pass on my e-mail address.0 -
Many thanks,Nellie, I will contact Rowena .

Just don't forget your ear plugs

That's a touch cryptic WG. Not doubting that you have stayed at Skybarn, but didn't see a review from you, and everyone on the five pages of reviews for the CL rates it extremely highly, yes a bit of road noise mentioned, but it isn't exactly anything that
caused any of the reviewers/visitors any problems. Certainly we have been on plenty of other sites and Cls where things have been far noisier. So in fairness to owners, I would suggest that potential visitors read the reviews and make their own minds up if
it is likely to be a problem.0 -
I didn't read any reviews that mentioned lots of road or other noise either. Not that a bit of road noise will affect us, not living as close as we do to the M40. anywhere
will probably seem quiet.0 -
We found Skybarn to be a very nice site but ( for us ) there is substantial road noise if sitting out in the awning trying to have a quiet read ( IMO ear plugs help)
However it is ideally situated for Lincoln . I would never dissuade anyone from going to such a nice site and location and it will be interesting to read their reports later
Tolerance and experience of road noise is probably dependent on your own residential location, i would say ours is very quiet and that maybe the reason we found it noisy

Tolerance and experience of road noise is all down to whether my hearing aid is in or not
Is this where I am advantaged, I take it out to go to sleep and all is at peace with the worldFound it to be a godsend when pitched beside the Rhine between the river and a railway line.

It is a very nice CL, suggestions on places to visit from us are Lincoln, of course. Area up by Cathedral and castle is nicest, lots to do and see up there, and if you are feeling energetic a walk up and down "the hill" has some nice shops. Close to CL is
Doddington Hall and a quaint little Transport Museum. Further afield Newark is another nice town, with remains of a large castle and Georgian town centre.Tattershall Castle, NT, is very dog friendly, interesting, and if you climb up to the top, you can see the home of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight! Worth a visit, or just park up by fence and see what takes off! We watched a Spitfire practising and
there were a few other vintage planes zooming about! Marvellous!0 -
Thank you ttda for the suggestions of places to visit, we are really looking forward to staying at SkyBarn cl in March. Lincoln is a city we haven't visited before, but have been doing some research on the visit Lincoln website.

will probably seem quiet. As you know we were there again over the New Year and found it even less noisey than we 'd experienced on our previous visit. It depends quite a bit on the wind direction and strenght, I guess.
H&T, did you manage to get my e-mail address from Ro or Mousely?

Yes, I did Nellie, I will email you if that's ok, just been a bit busy today.

No problem, whenever you've time. There are a few spots that I can point out for you, including good places to park for free.

Write your comments here...We know, it was mentioned yesterday.
We were hoping to come for my birthday on the 12th March but they are full.

We would have been on a Cl this week if the owners had answered an e mail requesting a booking.
Write your comments here...This is where I find it beneficial to stay on club sites. There is a proper booking system which can be done online.

Some CL'S have online booking systems, SkyBarn being one.
I am awaiting a reply to an email, usually phone if no response in a few days. Have booked a CL via email in just a few minutes once or twice.

I do similar. If no response to am email after a couple of days I will give the site a ring. If no reponse then I'll just look for a different site, usually plenty to choose from. have just manged to book a CL for the last weekend of the Easter holiday,
so well pleased. Doubt that we'll be alone though!0
