As they just said on Radio 5... Who will prevail in the world's oldest rugby contest?

I see that BBC  and ITV have  20 presenters/commentators/pundits each . That's 40 voices trying to fill a space which Bill Maclaren managed so much better on his own.

England is clear favourite to win against Scotland today, and this years tournament. Ever since Wilkinson, England has had great goal kickers,  they play a great kicking game.

Excellent game by both sides, highly contested. It's good to see the Scots have picked up on the kicking game, they are learning. I look forward to the 2nd halfHappy

I enjoyed the France v Italy game earlier. Italy has never played such good Rugby. They were a pleasure to watch. France were playing to their usual high standard and just managed to win. The game could have easily been won by either team, it was so close.

France v Italy....I wasn't overawed, I think that we watched the two teams that will finish as the bottom two maybe France above Italy.

Scotland v England.... good match, the better team won, job done England, something to build on......Cool

Both a good & fair score, Scotland played well, with more heart than usual. I will look forward to the Italy v Scotland game, if Scotland can keep their agressive attitude they may finish above Italy. Playing at Murrayfield is never easy, Scotland prove that every game They are there.

Both matches could have gone either way, even though England did win with a bit in hand. It certainly was obvious that this was the start of the 6 Nations, and the matches next week should produce better rugby.

    Lancaster's team won a ( deserved ) Lancaster's style victory!

Italy deserved a victory in Paris

Shame about Italy, would have loved them to beat France.

Eddie Jones is shrewd enough to know that only having a couple of weeks with England his best bet was to stick to a team that had played for the last few years together and for them to play in the manner that they were used to. And they still ahve the same
old problem of giving away far too many penalties. This time it didn't matter, in the end, but if they carry on this way they'll be made to suffer in future games.

If Lancaster had been in charge today,, then England would have lost. No doubt about it.....Cool

Not so good at the moment IMHO. Let's hope the game is more exiting the yesterday afternoon's game.

Wow! Today's match was undoubtedly the best of the weekend. Two teams playing excellent rugby, building attacks through multiple phases rather than continually kicking for territory. A draw was probably fair. Both teams are better than anything we saw yesterday, but a dropped point for the draw might cost them both in the end.

One other impressive thing about today's game was the behaviour of the crowd at place kicks, largely silent for both teams as opposed to yesterday's ill mannered whistling and booing.

Can't wait for next week's instalment! Happy

Spot on M, superb game. My money was on Wales to overcome the depleted Irish but I'm glad I was wrong. Both teams proved to be warriors. Draw? Deserved sharing of the points. That's what makes the 6 Nations tournament special, games like that. Can't wait
    for next weekendCool

Good Game, Good Game....as the man used to say!! Enjoyed the match and a fair result in the end. Can't see the Scots beating the Welsh next week in Cardiff, England should beat Italy so I treckon the best match of next weekend should be the Irish against France in Paris. It's the 1st game on Saturday on BBC1.Happy

I'm looking forward to Wales v Scotland tomorrow. Both with something to prove after their 1st matches, both feeling they could have done better. Smart money must be on the the Dragon to singe the Thistle. Whatever the score I expect a superb hard fought
    spectacleCool

Wales v Scotland was a real match with two teams on the up, France v Ireland a bit disappointing, two teams on a down?

I think it was the strength of the Welsh subs that was the deciding factor in their win. Good game of rugby to watch which cannot be said about the France/Ireland game. Ireland should have had it sealed up by half time but count not make all their early
possecion count. Like you BB I hope england can turn on the gas tomorrow. It'll be good to see the 3 new boys get a run out in the game. Hopefully England will build up a decent lead and then Eddie Jones can get them on early enough for them to show their
    potential.

From  a  poor  start  then a  handful  of  subs  for  England  allowed  them  to  transform  themselves  &  trounce  Italy.

No  further  comment  required  I  reckon

Superb game, Italy on the up, England showing class, the score didn't do Italy justice, they played a thinking game in the 1st half but didn't have any answers in the 2nd half. England have 23 good players, that makes a difference.

I thought both Saturday matches were pretty poor watching. Wales showed little flair. England had a good win even if the score flatterted them. Cant fault the players for taking their chances.

England's strength in depth made all the difference in the end, and I'm sure the talking to by Eddie at half time helped too. Now for Ireland and what could be the deciding game against Wales. Or am I doing an injustice to France?
