We went to see this at Bristol Hippodrome last night. Good in parts and with some really excellent performances by the child performers. I haven't seen the film so I'm not sure how closely it's based on this. Bit disappointed by the musical content but a
good night out nonetheless. Surprised that the theatre was only about three quarters full though!

Was wondering what you thought of the musical , Moulsey. Glad you enjoyed it, I really enjoyed the film, but not had chance to see the stage musical.

I loved the music in the film, I wonder if the musical was very different, hope they kept the T Rex?

I really enjoyed the storyline, the acting, the atmosphere  and the music of the Billy Elliot film.  Don't know how it would translate to a stage show.

    Cheers..........K

Saw this show in London earlier this year. We enjoyed the film so didn't know how well it would transfer to the stage. We were not dissapointed, it was excellent.

I've seen this twice now in London and was captivated each time. I thought the music was very powerful. The funniest experience was listening to the French father in front of me trying to explain some of the more colourful language to his two quite young
    children!
