RT I don't know what happened to your thread which seems to have thrown up an error. I imagine you were posting a link to the latest JL offering?

It's a brilliant advert by JL. Saw it on another forum earlier this morning and have already sent the link to to family members. One of the best adverts for years

Another great one. Just forwarded to daughter in NZ our eldest granddaughter adores her trampoline. But her parents took ages to put together for her birthday, we had promised ourselves it would remain SIL task but when our heavily pregnant daughter started
to contine building it during the day after three evenings of SIL not getting very far, we got involved . Impressed by the advert dad he's got staying power. We had lovely sunny weather to build and fittings not easy shoukd imagine worst in the cold

I do wonder how they managed the animals??? Lots of patience to create I expect, not my idea of fun! But so glad someone has the imagination and creative powers plus patience in droves......

There's a spoof one on YouTube by A level student, that's great too,I'd post a link if I could

This is a link to the BBC page with the spoof advert. JL did invite the maker of the spoof for a tour so he could see how the real thing was made which is a nice way to approach things.

I think the problem for John Lewis is that they have set the bar so high it becomes more and more difficult to top the previous year. Also some years will be more popular with some people than others.

I LOVE the new JL advert.  I can't imagine how they did it.  Such a lovely idea.  The backing track is great as well - one of my favourite tracks.

And of course individuals will prefer certain ones. I know many enjoyed last year's as it touched a note with them while others did not for exactly the same reason! You can't please everyone all the time! But If it evokes even a moderate response or emotion of any kind then the advertisers have probably got it right. They've got us talking about it!

Another super advert by JL. Know that dog too....well not exactly but daughter had a boxer who acted just the same way, and had the same facial expression.

    RT

Do you remember the JL ad that had a dog in a kennel outside the house. There was uproar in some quarters and JL edited that out of the advert. The wild animal bit is clearly fantasy so why anyone would get on their high horse I have no idea. You would have to ban half of all childrens books and films if they won the day!!!

    LOL....and badgers

    And where is Santa?

And why is the Dad making the trampoline (my little girls asked that because Santa brought hers a few years back - thanks JL!)

I see there is some support for it, but tbh, especially given the hype, I thought it was pants! sorry.

I absolutely love the advert but hadn't thought about the aspect that chemicalJasper mentions about the dad making the trampoline. I agree it should have been Santa. Parents are going to have some difficult explaining to do.

IMO that is the greatest advert for many years. So well thought out and produced. ----- There are always those who try so hard to find fault with TV adverts. --- They won't succeed with this advert.  It's Brilliant. !!!

    Cheers ......K
