Has anyone been to see the film yet? I read the book, which was very, very good, some time ago. But I often end up disappointed when I go to watch film versions of books I've enjoyed. Interested to hear any views.

Hi Moulesy - I'm looking forward to seeing the film.  I bought the book but haven't got round to actually reading it yet.

Should I read the book before seeing the film do you think?

Personally, I always like to read the book first Jill. And this one is quite a suspenseful one. So seeing the film first would probably ruin your enjoyment reading it ( a bit like "Gone Girl" if you read or saw that.)

I don't read very much as I spend most of my chill out time knitting and no - I haven't read or seen 'Gone Girl'.

I'd better get on with 'The Girl on the Train' then.

    Thanks Moulesy.

I went to see it with my daughter who had read the book. She enjoyed it more than I did. Not sure if that was because see had read the book or not. I didn’t like the way it jumps around in time. Won’t say too much as I don’t want to spoil it for others.

Thanks Whittaker.  I'm a simple soul and often struggle when a plot goes back and forth but I'll give it a try.

Have read the book first, and then watched the film.In the book there is no "chapters" as such, but "different characters".

Film does the same, but from different aspects of each person. And not too confusing.

It is certainly worth a viewing.

I've read the book, really enjoyed it. Probably will go to see the film, trouble is, having read the book, I know exactly what is going to happen.

I  started reading the book a while ago but never finished it. I enjoyed what I did read so I must pick it up again. If there has been a film made of a book I've already read I usually find I've enjoyed the book more. Let us all know what you think of the
    film Jill.

I see amazon have the kindle version for 99p, after the recommendation on here, think I'll download and read the book, then perhaps go and see the film.

I've just finished wading through Tom Clancy's "No Remorse".

Thought provoking theme on morality and ethics.

Write your comments here...Thanks for that H&T  I looked at that book in Watersons the other day but decided it was not worth the money for the printed version. . ---- 99 pence via the kindle app sounds just about right.  I'll download it today -- Hope the
book is not too girly though.
