Well didn't last nights episode throw a spanner in the works. I had a feeling the press officer was going to be a villain. We are really hooked, I think it is very well written. Looking forward to next week.

I think what was confusing last night was that the missing police man was not really mentioned. I suppose there is a danger from the viewers point of view that we think a week has gone by but in terms of the actual drama it might only be a number of hours!!!

Surely the press officer is a villain as he murdered the German policeman?

I agree with you David, but did you see that the press officer kept the policemans phone & texted his mate to cover for him for a few days. Very crafty.

Got a few answers last  night, starting to fall into place, and Alice is still alive, can't wait for the final episode next week.

Yes a few things came together last night. However its still a bit confusing as to what Stone's involvement really is. From what we saw last night perhaps nothing to do with the disappearance of the girls but there was that sceen early on in the series  where he seemed to be warning the girl posing as Alice. We also don't know who the body in the fire was if they are suggesting Alice is still alive. Lets hope the final episode is not a disappointment!!!

I'm guessing that Stone's reference to "what the three of us did to that girl" is to do with the younger sister presumably burnt to death in the fire they started when rescuing Getrik (is that his name - the press guy?). The abduction of the girls maybe
completely separate to that - the body in the shed may be the third girl in the photo, but where the DNA fits in is anyone's guess!

Finally caught up with all the records we had to watch, so last night we got to watch it as it was broadcast. We've been gripped from the start of it. Who is the girl in the shed, if Alice is still alive? can't wait for next week. Like DK hope its not a
    damp squid.

Having been in the Army and lived in Germany wish these producers would get their facts straight though, really bugs the OH.

    TG

If I recall correctly the first series was set in France but filmed in Belgium which lead to a few oddities of detail. What is it that you find wrong with the facts that those of us unfamiliar with army life would have missed?

Location, the hospital and cars were all supposed to be in the Hannover area, but it wasn't set anywhere near it.  Wrong uniforms, wrong cap badges, wrong procedures a Sgt from the Military police running that kid of investigation wouldn't happen, something like that would have been handled at the highest level by the SIB the whole Army setup was wrong, the fact that even after all those years they were all still in the same place is another.  Sent Phil daftLaughing

Oh and the flashbacks to Iraq, wrong uniforms wrong equipment, think you get the drift, Laughing

I see what you mean but for most that wouldn't spoil the overall drama. I remember reading about War and Peace recent production and how, apparently, the Russians were watching it like a hawk to see if any mistakes were made with the uniforms. It seems the
BBC aquitted themselves quite well but that was a historical drama where perhaps where perhaps the detail is more important. It would be interesting to talk to the Producer of the series to see what his take was?

I'm pretty sure no matter what  the programms are about, there will be someone sat there saying "that's wrong" you only have to watch something like Casualty or Holby, doctors and nurses must hate these programmes. I think you have to watch these type of
programmes and just accept them for what they are. It just drives him crazy because its pretty recent stuff and there is plenty of people out there who could advise, the historical programmes must cost a fortune to make as they have to re-make all the uniforms
    etc.

Many years ago when the series 'Londons Burning' was on TV a Chief Fire Officer wrote a very, very long letter to the Fire Engineers Journal complianing about all the perceived inaccuracies. The letter was printed in full and, with a very long winded list of all his qualifications/awards etc, took up considerable space.

Someone at the publication must have had a sense of humour as the following month they printed a response from a Firefighter. It simply read "Its a drama.......not a documentary"!!

Cant agree more woth the general sentiment, its the thing that my wife and I both look forward to each week so next week will be eagerly awaited.

Oh, and what was it that he was expecting to feel in his pocket??

Did he, or did he just take the toys without payment? However he obtained the toy, is it a clue that eventually leads to them being found?

Really looking forward to tonight's last episode, but I do hope it will be a proper conclusion to the current story and not something leaving us on the edge of our seats for another 8 parter next year!

Happy. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

Well, what a conclusion!!!  Everything tied up - and hopefully Baptiste may survive for another series.

However, like some others, some aspects were a bit odd.  How did someone who was almost dead (and had been tied up for days (Greatorex when rescued in Iraq) manage to record an 'in the battlefield' conversation between his colleagues that 'umpteen' years
later he managed to use as blackmail?

I thought the recording of what happened  was much later? Did he not fool the two others into discussing it when they were out together for a drink or something?

All sorted in my head but ....... was that the Brigadier in the car boot and how did he die? Surely when his daughter wheeled him out of hospital she didn't top him.

So what he expected to be in his pocket was Swiss Francs?!

Re recording, he asked if Stone remembered when they went for that drink-it was then. And the body in the boot was the policeman but as to why Stones daughter was there, who knows.

So, does Series three start with Baptiste coming round after his op??

Yes, that recording was made in 2014, before he released Sophie/ Alice to get hospital treatment wasn't it, in order to coerce Henry wood into treating her?

I was also a bit puzzled by the body in the boot scene, but agree it was the German policeman.

Presumably Baptiste's op will be a sccess and he'll be back for a new series - mind you how someone who hardly been able to put one foot in front of the other throughout the series managed to race through the woods after Sophie seemed a tad strange to me!

I think Stone's daughter was at the scene because she was the one who insisted they start looking for the policeman because of what she discovered on his computer at the police station.

I thought it was very clever how things which seemed impossible to work out suddenly became clear, like the Swiss Francs. In many ways I think this was a better series than the first one.

There is much speculation in the press about a third series although the writers have said that it would be difficult. We were lucky that they have managed to have two series with very different story lines so I suppose it depends on them coming up with
a plot that can grip the attention.

I had wondered whether there might have been a future role for the German policeman until he was killed off. He appeared to have same tenacity as Baptiste but that theory soon went out the window!!!
