The Jump
Good news this morning that Beth Tweddle is OK following an operation on fractured vertebrae in her neck that she sustained while taking part in Channel 4's 'The Jump'.
She is the third person that has been injured in the course of this series and there have been others in past series.
I really do think that Channel 4 are extremely irresponsible in producing this programme. Winter sports can be very dangerous, particularly for those who haven't much experience. I was a good skiier over many years and had an accident in 2006 which saw me in and out of hospital for 7 operations and three years in and out of a wheelchair.
Putting celebrities or anyone else for that matter at risk in the name of cheap entertainment is wholly irresponsible in my view.

This is what Eddie
the Eagle has to say about it.0 -
It makes me winder how a serious athlete would even concider an idiotic and potentially very dangerous show like this one except for money or vanity neither of which are much good when your in a wheelchair for the rest of your natural..I read the article
by Eddie Edwards and as he says its a very, very dangerous sport that is very unforgiveing if you dont have 100% concentration. The potential consequences can be horrendous.peter.

I think that being athletes, they love a challenge Peter and that is probably their reason for doing it. Most sports are very dangerous if care is not taken and Beth Tweddle participated in one of the most dangerous!
