A Walk In The Woods
We've just been to see this film based on Bill Bryson's walk along the Appalachian Trail at our local arts centre. Not sure how we missed it when it was at the cinema. Fans of Bill Bryson's books will love it, but even if you're not it's a very funny film
and a nice undemanding couple of hours' entertainment.

What a co-incidence - our son has just told us about this film and we missed it too. Apparently it is coming out on DVD so I will look out for it. I love his books. I am waiting for our DIL to finish her copy of 'The Road to Little Drbbling' because she
is going to lend it to me. Who played Bill Bryson moulesy?0 -
moulesy, I rather like Robert Redford but I don't really see him as Bill Bryson. I loved Notes From a Small Island. It was the
first Bill Bryson book I read and I laughed until I cried.0 -
I agree. Bill is, shall we say, short round and bearded. Robert Redford didn't even have a beard! Think it came out of the same casting school that had Tom Cruise playing 6 foot 5 inch Jack Reacher.
Watch out for Nick Nolte playing Bill's mate Katz. Great performance!

My wife read the book and it had her in stitches.

Millie, unbelievably, it was Robert Redford who played Bill Bryson!
The Little Dribbling book is a great read, though not quite as amusing as the original Notes From A Small Island, I thought.
agree about the book, M, maybe Bryson is a bit of an acquired taste
