Pets and holidays without caravan or motorhome
Would anyone else find it useful to have a reference thread for those of us who take none touring breaks, and use cottages, bed and breakfast, overnight stops etc.. with pets?
We always take our pets with us, primarily dogs, and if wanting to stay somewhere different, it can at times be a bit of a chore trawling through a lot of the, at times, misleading "pet friendly" websites! As with sites and CLs, just thought it might be
good to get some proper feedback and information about places to stay, and use it as ongoing reference. We would be happy to share some of our best stays, and hopefully others will as well, so that lots of us can find nice accommodation and know that all the
family members are welcome!

Good idea. Pets at Home have a scheme in conjunction with, I think English Holiday Cottages where dogs go free and you even get a doggy welcome pack if you book at least 3 weeks in advance. Haven't used them yet but we're looking for somewhere in the lakes
in February so will report back if we use them.0 -
Just caught up with this thread! Glad others will find it useful. We have used cottages and log cabins in Yorkshire locations, and happy to help with these, plus one or two others in Cornwall, and we are off to our favourite bijoux Bed and Breakfast luxury
stay just before Christmas. They have a couple of rooms where dogs are very welcome, and this will be our third visit in last couple of years, as it is just total pamper for both humans and beasties!Sometime ago, someone mentioned a chain of budget overnight stops, similar to Travelodge, that welcomed dogs, but I cannot recall the brand name. So if you read this please repost, as we are using Travelodges quite a lot but an alternative would be useful
as well, thanks. I could Google, but insider knowledge is often a lot better!0 -
Thanks Brue. I will take a look. I have just had a look at Days Inn as well, looks like some of their locations are dog friendly as well.
