Dog friendly beaches in Brittany

We are thinking of taking our dog abroad to Brittany in June/July and have been trying to assess how restrictive the beaches are there. Has anyone experience of this, and could they recommend any sites near beaches that are not too restrictive? We originally
thought of Raguenes Plage and the Benodet sites. Any suggestions will be welcome!

There is a list of 'Beaches allowing dogs' here:

It might help you find something.

Anglian, Do you want to be legal or not?

The departement of Finistere, which includes the places you mention, has passed a law banning all dogs from all beaches. The fine is 11 euros.

Now, having said that,  you will find some out of the way places, away from the lifeguards who will enforce the local law, and get away with it.

Thasnk you. After what you have said, I think we will give it a miss this year! It is always quite difficult here in the Uk in some areas, but we can accommodate that.

Anglian, instead of thinking 'beach' think further south, and riverside.  There are some fantastic rivers in France, with campsites on the banks, where there are pebble or sand beaches where your dog can play happily in the water for hours and hours.  Lots
of dog lovers take their dogs to France, but many of them choose riverside (or lakeside) sites instead of those near the beaches.

Thank you ValDa. We have camped for many years with our trailer tent in the Dordogne, but have never taken our van abroad, and we thought Brittany might be a gentle introduction[we have never taken a dog before though!]
