Hawfinch?

Dear all

Can anybody identify this bird. It was feeding on Niger seed in our back garden in Sussex.

    Hawfinch at Lynford Arboretum.  Just look at the size of the beak

    My neighbour who also saw the bird would vouch that our bird had a large strong beak. It was the first thing she said when we chatted about our unusual sighting.
