Has anyone experienced a problem after changing their engine battery on a Autocruise Starlet 2 , everything worked fine until the battery change and now the step will not operate without a mains connection and I have no engine voltage showing on the control
panel, although the engine turns over and starts . I have seen a similar fault mentioned back in March from a club member after a battery change , has anyone else had a similar problem and found a remedy

If your step automaticly retracts when the engine starts then there will be a feed to the step from the engine compartment, it will also be the same feed that suppies the refrigerator with 12v power when on the move.

Try and find that power line and test it for power when the engine is running.

Sorry I cant be more specific as I dont know your van only the general principles of the idea.

It is possible that somthing has been desturbed when the battery was changed.

Yes,,exactly as Doug n San say.My Autocruise Sunningdale had a supply direct from the battery .The steps are also known to not work if the micro switch underneath gets dirty.

Fault has now been found , blown 30amp fuse situated close to engine battery ,  special slow blow bolt down fuse, in the end sourced from the internet supplier . Step now working again and control panel showing engine battery voltage ..

Someone must have touched a live wire to ground when changing the battery without noticing Laughing ..
