Caravan service allowed on cc sites?

my van is in storage ,and is due for a service in october however the storage site is also a large caravan dealership , who also do repairs and servicing : i would like to use an independent mobile serviceman , who is a bit of a hymer specialist , but i
live on a busy main road , and cant get caravan on drive , so was wondering if i booked onto a cc site are service's allowed to be done whilst on site ?has anyone done this ? Cheers mrs bc:)

    Probably not as even washing a vehicle is prohibited. However you are likely to get a more welcoming answer from the owner of a CL.

    I'm 95% sure it is not allowed on CC sites.

    Pick a quiet layby .. You can always say it's got a fault ..

    I agree with Nav, why don't you choose a CL close to you. Have seen a number of vans being serviced on them.

    Speak to the Warden because most have their own service done while on site, i have mine done each year on a site very close to South Yorkshire.

    Best to verify with the warden prior to arranging anything but I think you'll find that, other than an emergency repair, a mobile servicing vehicle would not be permitted on a CC site.

    We have had work carried out whilst on a CC site.

    In Febuary 2014 we were staying at Crystal Palace for a couple of weeks and during this time collected our new van. I got a price for the fitting of a Powrtouch mover and as this could be done whilst we were on site,as opposed to waiting till we were back home in Cornwall,I approached the warden who had no problem with the fitters carying out the work on site.

    I think Malcolm M had his van serviced on site earlier this year

    Good luck I have mine serviced at home and you wouldn't even know they have been they are so tidy.  But I am sure you need to ask.  A CL is a great idea.

    The club allow servicing in the storage areas subject to the wardens agreement. They seem to allow some but not others but bearing in mind caravans are close together it is easy to see that damaging the next caravan could be possible if the engineer is careless or on some specific jobs. I have noted the same engineer has been asked to work on an unoccupied area of the site in some cases so assume these were jobs they felt unsuited to work in the close confines of the storage area like work on the gas system.

    On busy sites with children about I doubt wardens will want engineers working on site but might be more ameanable to work there whan it is quiet. Speaking to the wardens is the best way forward.

    Thankyou i will enquire the club in question would be clumber park as that is close to home , if they say no i will probably forego the independent serviceman (which is a shame cos he was very good when we first bought van ) and use the large dealership
    ,more for easiness than anything cheers mrs bc :)

    Ask at Poolsbrook thats where i have mine done by Chatworth motorhome servicing but does caravans also. Friend just had his serviced at Casleton by Dave Shaw who runs the company.

    Whilst on a CC site, I asked the Warden if I could have a MotorMover fitted, they said no as it would give them insurance problems, so we used the adjacent public car park instead. I suspect that CLs may be more accomodating - I suggest asking them well
    in advance first though

    Plenty of site information offices have cards advertising local service engineers.

    I once called out a mobile engineer when I had a problem with the battery charger having 'melted'. I did mention it to the warden beforehand though and I guess that routine servicing is different to an emergency-type situation.

    Cant you just have it done in Clumber park itself rathervthan the caravan site if the warden says no?  Obviously not the main carpark but there's enough other little parking areas where you should be able to be and not cause a nuisance.  Especially if it's
    an autumn weekday.
