Has anyone had issues with Continental Vanco Tyres
We bought a new Chausson Motorhome late 2014 and we have had to replace two front tyres that have only covered 7.5k miles! Both front tyres have had the same issue with lumps of tread coming off the outside wall of the tyre!

we've done around 8.5k miles in our van which is fitted with Michelin Agili Camper Plus tyres....they're still looking pretty good, however, taking myriad non-toll routes through French town/village roundabouts will eventually take their 'toll'...

Out of interest did you note the date of manufature of the tyres?

Good point, MF. Tyres often sit on the shelf for months/years before being sold and new base vehicles are often with the converter for months before being turned into MHs and fed into the dealership network. The dealer may then have it on the forecourt for
a further length of time before selling and registering it. As we know, age defeats tyres as well as miles.0 -
We've got 4 Vanco Camper Continental tyres on our 2013 MH that has just done 20,000 miles.
The tread still seems okay, I haven't measured the depth recently but it looks reasonably good, and I've just looked and can't see any signs of cracking or deterioration of the tyres.
If your tyres are reasonable new I'd have a chat with Continental and see what their response is.

Our Volvo came with Continental tyres, they were very poor and the tread barely lasted 2 years/18000 miles.
Since then we have used Nokian and Vredestein tyres, which have all lasted at least twice as long, so we are not a fan of Continentals!

Our hymer motorhome has passed the 150,000 mile mark this year. We changed to continental vanco camper tyres way back as we couldn't get replacement michelin XC tyres without a lengthy wait. We've had great wear out of our continentals, and wouldn't buy
anything else.0 -
We have a 2014 Chausson on Vanco tyrres. So far the van has covered 17,000 miles with no issues and I reckonn the tyres are good for another 5,000 or so before I start getting concerned.
Just out of interest, has anyone ever had replacement tyres fitted and discovered they are already a year or so old?

As we're talking about motorhome tyres in this thread, it's hard to to relate to volvo owners' experiences. Fitting ordinary van tyres to a motorhome isn't recommended: CP tyres are designed to take the constant load and the 'abuse' expected from motorhomers!
