keep checking the wheel nuts to ensure they are tight, by OVER checking them you can work harden the nut and it can cause damage.

When I was taught by a Rolls Royce engineer how to use the torque wrench I had bought with my first month's wage I learned that to check torque one first released the tension on the bolt, nut, set screw, whatever before setting it again.  And, of course,
[to refer to another thread on here] one unscrewed all the tension in the torque wrench after use.]

With regards to not reducing tyre pressures; once pitched I usually find that one or perhaps two weeks of running around merely increases the wear in the centre of the car tyre tread. But only fractionally so.

Overall during the course of twelve months, not towing, that wear is relatively negligible

I must really have a word with my butler as he probably is not doing all the things suggested by the man in white and we don't want the butler locked up.

Hmm! Now wondering about our butler in the toilets?

As we move every 5 nights the car is driven as much solo as towing and I prefer not to faff.

All this 'faffing', I'm just glad my tyre pressures are the same whether towing or solo.

Well of course mine are too Winking

Half of the mileage we do with the tow car is in fact towing. Little used brtween holidays as we use our 17 year old Yaris. Still on original exhaust we have had our second replacement battery this summer. That does little mileage these days either sine
we are both retired these last 9 years. It is serviced every 2 years. and only ever needed windscreen wipers and tyres

Never thought of that, what a brilliant idea.
