Fresh water yes or no?

Why are people asking the same question over and over and over again?
Simplification and removal of dross (spelt with a capital C).
Fair enough. Here's my post from page 4
This subject has cropped up before and I think it was confirmed by staff that the CC does not make provision for short stops by motorhomers to get water or empty waste.
I don't have a problem with it but the way to get change is going directly to the Club as the forum doesn't achieve anything more than a discussion.

Then of course you have the scenario of the M/van who turns up at one site and pays the reasonable fee, then after a few nights in the wild ,on to another site who because possibly apart from those mentioned has cesspits that cater for the site size, and then as would happen ,moan as to why is it not an all sites facility better to have blanket no on all sites

Understood JE, but don't feel obliged to read my contributions .
If the new software includes an 'ignore poster' button then I'll oblige you in that suggestion. Until then I was merely suggesting that as the question has been asked and answered several times you may be better taking it up with CC who can actually make

Now let me see if I have this right. I can tip up at a CC Ltd site with a near empty fresh water tank, near full cassette or two, near full waste water tank, book in for one night if they have space, dump and refill, use the facilities (paid and those included
within the night price) then the following day or earlier if I wish, leave with empty waste and cassette(s) and a full tank of fresh water.By Jove I think he has got it.
Conversely I am not allowed to tip up at a CC Ltd site with a near empty fresh water tank, near full cassette or two, near full waste water tank, pay a reasonable fee, dump, refill, and then depart a happy bunny with an empty waste and cassette(s) and a
full tank of fresh water?By jove He has got it!

I'm not sure if He has got it but I certainly now understand that provided a reasonable fee is paid I can get the service I may require. Also that all the other rubbish about problems with the travelling community, local councils, parking restrictions,
congestion at the gates, other members getting upset, cesspits, and not forgetting Norman, are no more than red herrings dreamt up by over active imaginations and/or those that seem to have a problem with motorhomers.By Jove, you have got it, DD....both sentences

All a MH has to do is to book a non-electric CL somewhere, which will almost certainly have 'on spec' availability. Fees are generally basic £5-£8. He won't get a 'drive over' but can utilise a bucket/ hose ( surely within the inventory) to empty/fill his
tanks. Whether he decides to stay the night as well is his own choice. If CC sites are not obliging, such CLs are at least in greater abundance. Problem solved.0 -

...I think the OP wants it without needing to spend any more per year than their membership fee

well, he is a member......
failing that 'bonhomie' being forthcoming......., a 'reasonable fee' would be acceptable to most MHers....
'sur le Continent' where folk arent as judgemental about how vans are used, you can call in almost anywhere and put your €2/jeton into the 'bourne' and get upto 100 ltr of water....no membership requirements, just a non judgemental business transaction.
no doubt, a 'reasonable fee' in the UK would need to be about three times as high so £4/5 would be 'about right for the UK' (translated as rip off)

Obviously the 'anywhere' has decided that it makes economic sense. Maybe there is suffcient uptake? I cannot imagine any providers finding the same here. It would be taken up I suspect by a few wild campers. I wonder how many local authorities that have
many wild campers to make it viable would be prepared to pass planning for such provision.0 -
My post from the other similar thread, now closed, and a small but possible income stream for the CC :
I believe that the CC should offer a refill and dumping service to passing motorhomes... for a suitable fee....
It would then make it clear as to the rules of engagement. Like the CCC this would only be at bigger / newer sites that had a suitable MH service point which any visiting motorhome could use without causing obstruction and inconvenience to those on site.
I wouldn't use it myself, as we dont do the wild thing..

I doubt that it would be commercially viable if it involved construction. I personally would not wish for vehicles to drive around the site for the purpose solely of taking on water. On a new build it would be feasable perhaps to place a facility outside
the main pitch area that could also be used by motorhomes staying on site. On existing sites far more difficult to achieve, However the facility would also need to be secure from unauthorised use. Before the CC would consider any provision they would need to consider uptake and the effects on existing operating systems. I personally doubt a great uptake from members

Why were MHSP ever built in the general pitching area in the first place? Seems pretty stupid to me.

I expect that, especially in the case of modifications to sites, location is largely governed by where the sewers and fresh water pipes run.

If they were outside the barriers then any Tom, Dick or Harry could use them. Some could doubtless be better placed.
...again, in France the 'bourne' (or even a 2nd one) is placed outside so that every Tom, Dick Or Harry can use it....that is exactly its raison d'être....
ok, if the water is the be charged for, the its easy to make it by jeton only, which are available at the office and only to members on production of a valid membership card....
no disturbance on site, self funding and a member-only facility.
perhaps, we should learn from the way others do things rather than assume that we always know best.....

I suspect that their is a greater uptake of such facilities in those areas than likely to be the case over here. Before consideration could be made of such provision a survey of likely uptake would need to be carried out. As I have said before if it were
economically viable then somebody would have provided. Maybe at one of the car-wash places which have sprung up on the sites of closed petrol stations etc.0 -
...but you dont go to a camp site to get your car washed...
the club(s) have the infrastructure in place, and there are many sites....they have the scale to make it work and the network of communications to advertise the facility....
no doubt any member or not (even in a MH) can pitch up at any CC site and buy an exchange gas bottle without having to book in for a night...its just a financial transaction....the club sells gas because members (and others) need it, whether they are staying
on that site are not.are the club encouraging wild camping by selling gas to a member who is just passing through?
where is the usual outcry re where would they park, blocking the entrance etc....
members should feel comfortable using their own club to purchase 'camping' facilities.....if gas is ok, why not water....?
