I know there's another thread about gas prices, but as that seems to be mainly about refillable systems, what is a typical price to exchange a standard 6kg propane cylinder?

I tried to replace a cylinder yesterday.

The 'list' price on the Calor web site is £20.25

Go Outdoors charge £20.25 but do them for £18.50 if you have their £5 per year card. None in stock.

Our local DIY shop charges £20.25 but didn't have one in stock.

Local tool hire shop had them for £20.50 but didn't take credit cards and I didn't have that much cash with me.

Local garage had them for £22.99......I didn't buy one.

Always exchange mine at go outdoors with the card. Never had a problem of them not being in stock.

Usually change ours on club sites due to convenience. Price generally varies 22 / 23 for the standard and 24 / 25 for the lite.

Go Outdoors can run out of stock. Delivery day for Calor at our local store is I think Thursday. I phone them up in the morning to check they have arrived and I ask them to put one aside with my name on it so it is waiting for me. And yes, I pay 18.50 with
    the card.

We have a Go Outdoors card but always seem to have to renew it each time we go. Only buy gas about once a year, so a cylinder there realistically costs us £23.50

Our gas bottle ran out while away this month, as we were on a CL,  checked calor website for local supplier. Found the place luckily only a few miles away, but didnt have any, they  said there was a tool hire place round the corner who may have one. Luckily they had one left, charge was £18.99.

We only use approx one 6kg bottle a year so not expensive really.

Edit: our nearest go outdoors is a 50 miles round trip, so usually just get refills from local farm shop if at home. Can't remember their price.
