What do you call the neighbours?

When you are on a site what sort of apt names do you give to the unknown strangers pitched around you, based on their characteristics or habits - and why? Some ones we have recently seen are:-

Wastemaster Man - emptying every half hour or so.

Pink Wellies - on hard standing in a heat wave.

Mrs Laundry - continually refilling two whirlies with washing.

I'll not say here what we called the couple who kept taking their three dogs out one at a time on a lead to void themselves behind their outfit!

We had 'flagman' as they had lots and lots of flags, and 'hairy pickup man' as his pick up truck was covered in fur.

    Not something you see everyday!

Write your comments here.. Why ?, they are members and entitled to, maybe we should ask the Clampetts what they thought of you,

We had Doctor and Mrs Shirt - called that because he changed his shirt four times a day - every day. One short sleeve from breakfast to just before lunch, change for lunch into long sleeves, short sleeves in the afternoon from lunch until dinner, and then
change for dinner into a very smart shirt (but we never saw him in a 'dress shirt'). Every day she washed, hung out to dry, and ironed four shirts, in addition to four pairs of (his) pants, and her bits and pieces! He spent most of the day away fishing, and
she spent most of the day cleaning in and around the caravan and awning, or washing and ironing! They were actually both lovely people, but 'four shirts' - and every day without fail - who does that? I think we should have called them Dr and Mrs Laundry!

I should have married her. My wife expects me to help.

Blimey, I didn't realise CC members were so nosey.  I don't even notice what anyone else is up to, as I'm so busy enjoying myself.

I had a Mr and Mrs Belt and Braces, it's something I tend to do myself, belt braces and buttons but not in the wearing sense as Mr B & B did.  Also Mr and Mrs Very Large Tortoise.  And many named by their breed of dog hopefully being exercised (emptied) in the appropriate place!  That Rule really needs enforcing!

Anyone is welcome to call me Mrs Wiley Shepherd and Labrador.  Or Pippa!

People watching is a fun pastime!  Happy

PS As of today you can call me Crazy!  I am off to rescue my son's 2 "mop dogs".  Anyone like to foster a pair of very sweet little "Cavapoos"?  Cavalierxminipoodles.  Brexit has caused a sudden exit to the US and finding accommodation that is wheelchair
and baby friendly is hard enough but dogs make it even harder.  Undecided

Blimey I never realised there were people who where totally  oblivious to others, we enjoy ourselves but sometime  in 24 hours we look around us and even speak to fellow  campers

Yes there are those as well, whereas I always call out a cheery greeting to others and shock horror, even invite others for a coffee and a chat.   What I don't do is sit watching others and making up names to call them.

i know this thread is meant as a bit of humour but it just struck me that, as anyone can read these threads, perhaps we're not giving others including those considering joining, a very good impression.  Just saying ....

Surely half the fun of being on site is watching what others do and criticising it.

Maybe "criticising" is a bit harsh. Watching and learning in my case. On some occasions how not to do things. But on many, how to do things better. Whichever, I have to agree that people watching is a great way to spend some time.

Dr and Mrs Shirt were German so I hope they're not reading this, but if they are then I would hope they would take it with a good pinch of humour.

I think it's very likely we're called Mr and Mrs Messy by our neighbours - somehow our 'informal style' of caravanning seems to make our pitch look very 'lived in' without us even trying!

Years ago on a French campsite we visited for years, we had Mr Cigarette.  An elderly gentleman who always walked by with a cigarette in his mouth and from the corner of his mouth muttered 'bonjour'.  Sadly, one year we went to the site and the gentlemen
was no longer there.  I asked the site owner what had happened and she explained that he died earlier on in the year.  It's sad to see these characters pass on.
