Consideration to other road users
Good Morning All,
I am sure all our Members are considerate to other road users but I have just had a conversation and it was highlighted to me that a caravanner was very inconsiderate to a lady riding her horse on a narrow country road. It can be very dangerous for everybody
concerned if a horse gets 'spooked' so please please be considerate.
Thanks
Tracy

from my experience horse riders are far more considerate than ruddy joggers and cyclists they think they own the road, I cant stand joggers or cyclists
Wonder how many joggers and cyclists are motorists as well
Bit like environment protesteors who fly all over the world for conferences on climate change

Walking down narrow B road last night I was met by a group of about twenty joggers bearing down on me and the dog coming round a blind bend six abreast and at full gallop. They obviously had no intention of moving and I was not for jumping in the hedge.
I shook my head as they past me only to be verbally abused by there trainer on a bike at the back on the wrong side of the road. "were do you expect us to go" says he "on one side of the road would be an idea" replied me. He muttered something I did not catch
then as he cycled at full pelt and now fifty yards away the cheeky sod screamed "you prick"
I hate joggers and cyclists0 -
Dare I mention HGVs

I just have this image now of the two previous posts meeting on a blind bend - and I know which will come off worst!

On narrow country lanesI agree that consideration should be given to Horses ,but that also works the other way when horse riders when they can (but do not) help ,by moving over
Write your comments here...because unfortunately if you keep to far over other road users do not give you enough room and will quite often try to overtake you when another car is coming the other way. It is also in the Highway Code that you can ride 2 abrest

The trouble with cyclists is that they watch The Tour de France and think there can all ride like that. They make my blood boil.
Try living where we live (Yorkshire Dales, and directly on the route of the "Tour")
They are getting to be a real problem and many locals are getting quite fed up with them. Plus its really dangerous when you are driving and the sight of fat middle aged men in lycra makes you laugh (or feel sick) quite so much. Yeuck!

They apparently call them mamils. Middle aged men in lycra.

Write your comments here...It is not that most riders do not show other road users consideration it is the few who think "i am on a horse and sod anyone else i hold up" when oportunities arise to let others by,as is the case also of tractors ,when the NFU
advise to give way to faster traffic when possible0 -
Nah! You're okay to keep them.

..the fact that you can doesn't always mean that you should ...... same for cyclists.

Think we'd have fewer issues if more folk showed a little consideration to other road users. We have a riding school near us, they are usually grateful when we give them leeway as they travel from stables to riding tracks and back, and they have been known
to stop to allow faster vehicles to pass0 -

Wish people would quote the full regulation and not just the bit that suits as it also goes on to say 2 abreast but not on narrow or busy roads!! Rule 53 Horses rule 66 cyclists
