It looks very impressive and as a publicity stunt it is up among some of the best. However, it is a bit like Bailey with ther Mondeo on the roof of a van, not something you are ever likely to do. I can't help thinking that manufactures could make better
use of their promotion budgets showing how their vehicles perform in real world situations. Let's see it pulling a average van from a standing start on a 1 in 6 grade for instance.0 -
The pull required is a lot less than the weight of the carriages. Also, they are "loose coupled" which lets the wee Discovery get them moving along the flat one at a time.

Some people can pull a 20 ton truck with their teeth so I don't quite understand why people think the LR/Train feat is in any way exceptional!
Still the PR company has pleased the lowest common denominator which was obviously the aim
But those that pull 20 ton trucks aren't standard people like the LR was.
Being the lowest common denominator I'll crawl back under my stone!
