Microwave /combi oven will it trigger my fuse?
hello was thinking of getting a microwave combi oven for my caravan ,has anybody used one And are they recommended ? Have had microwaves in motorhomes and used a remoska , but thought id do without microwave in caravan : however hadnt realised just how handy
they are i was going to use remoska and buy a new microwave but then thought if i get a microwave /combi oven i can leave remoska at home (brill for jacket spuds) and have electric oven and microwave combined , i realise i cant have kettle on but i tend to
use kettle in morning only , i also have gas heating on not electric cos i prefer it (much to hubbys annoyance lol) any thoughts from you fellow campers ? Cheers mrs bc(camping with a microwave eh ,who'd have thought it lol)

I think ours at home pulls about 2 kW maximum, so as long as you were careful what else you had on it would be OK on a 16 amp CC site. My main concern is how hot it gets, ours is on a worktop at home and well ventilated. However the back of it gets very
hot in use. I would not like to install it in a caravan where ventilation is poor, I would be very concerned about it overheating. I suppose it would be OK in an awning.0 -
Depends on its power requirement but if it is 2,000 watts on a 16 amp site you can use it but be aware not to run other things like the water heater that take high power. On a 10 amp site you would be risking it.
Microwave figures are for the cooking element and they draw a bit higher current than quoted when used.
