Cleaning the Roof Light Screens

Having got good advice on cleaning the windows I am wondering if anyone can help with this one.  We quite often have our roof windows open, particularly when cooking.  There is a slide along fly screen to stop the flies coming in which is concertinaed until
fully open.  This seems to gather a few dead insects in it :(.  Is there an easy way to clean this as, without it being pulled fully accross it doesn't really open up enough to squeeze my hand up the side.  I hope this makes sense to others.

    I cleaned mine using a vacuum cleaner from outside on a ladder. It is  not conveient, but it works.
