as most dealers are open at weekends for sales you would have thought it wasn't beyond the realms of possibility to hand over On a weekend.  The dealer should really view it as part of customer relations

I really can't remember what days we have picked up our caravans, but I am surprised that Saturday wasn't an option.

I'd be inclined to tell them you'll buy it somewhere else.

We were both working when we collected our motorhome and we collected it on a Saturday.  It seems very strange to stipulate a weekday when the dealers are open at weekends.  Perhaps they need someone from the workshop to explain things.

Being cynical, could i suggest that weeekends are the busiest sales days and so maybe they are trying to direct you to pick it up on a weekend as it does take time to go through everything and they already have your business. I personally would have been
insistent if they are open and sell on a weekend then they should be able to deliver.  It was the salesmen that took us through the handover so it shouldn't really be a problem if the workshop is closed (although again the ones we go too are open on a Sat
    morning).

I tend to aghree but given the numbers being sold at this time of year I woulod think only a few people coul;d be accomodated on a Saturday so possibly its first come first served whjere this is possible.

If you need a Saturday handover I think you need to make it clear when you order the caravan and if they will not accept this you can walk away at that point.

I would also say on the last trwo caravans we have collected it was a director who did the paperwork when we picked up the caravan and the actual demonstration was by one of the workshop staff in te last case the foreman.  The first of those two was actually a Saturday so some dealers do handover that day but from arranging it I know they were very busy with new caravans and it might not have been possible at quieter times. In the second we were retired so the day made no difference to us.

We are picking up our new motorhome next Thursday from Becks Motorhomes, Norfolk. We were asked politely not to pick up at the week end this time of year as it is their busiest time and they like to spend as much time as needed with us on the day of the
hand over. Its was good to know they would have done the hand over though at the week end if it was our only option. Good advice for anyone buying in the future is to establish the details as part of the sales agreement. However, hindsight is a wonderful thing!!!!
