Out of pink flush

We've run out of pink flush liquid.  Is there anything else that can be used as an emergency flush substitute?  The nearest caravan/camping stockist is shut today and I'm trying to avoid a 25 minute journey for some.

    Any fabric conditioner will do the job I use Pound shop stuff, works a treat.

    Catherinef, Aldi were selling Pink Flush last week, but of course, it depends were you are at the moment.

    When we first started vanning back in 82, I, feel sure there was no pink flush and we managed ok.

    why use anything at all.....?

    most MH use the fresh water tank to provide the water for a flush (no seperate tank) so dont have any additives.....we dont want these in our tea, do we?Undecided

    so, if the bowl needs anything more than water, you could use a spray (toilet/anti bacterial or other that appeals) and give it a squirt and a clean.

    There are a number of Motorhomes and caravans that flush the toilet from the onboard tank or aquaroll with no seperate toilet flush tank, including ours. No pink addative can, therefore, ever be used. I wouldn't worry the pink makes little difference.

    Our motorhome draws water from the fresh water tank so there is no pink flush involved. We do have a pink spray bottle we sometimes spray the bowl from because it smells nice. We do clean the bowl with Thetford Toilet Cleaner. We are not big users of the
    toilet! You can live without pink flush for a few days at least.

    As others have said, I would just use water as a temporary measure.  On the odd occassion we have ran out of flush water during the night we have just poured water out of the taps to rinse bowl.

    no....proprierty product like these and 'pink' are hugely expensive for what they are...

    just use a (pine/lemon/etc) scented 'wipes' from poundland or Lidl etc...

    I agree with BB why use anything but clean water. You could put a dash of "blue" in your flush tank, works just as well as pink.

    Neither Pink Flush, special cleaners nor toilet paper are necessary. In my opinion they are designed to part us from our £s.

    The moral of this story is always carry a spare bottle of pink flush and blue. You will never get caught out again.Happy

    Stopped using it years ago when I discovered it produced a black algae......now it's just water!

    The OP could just ask to borrow some from another member on site as one would have done in the days of social interaction.

    Same as BB - plain water in the flush tank and a Tesco own brand anti-bacterial spray round the bowl.  No black streaks, cheaper and smells nice too.  Happy

    As  for  the  Bowl  Cleaner  &  spare  bottles  of  "Pink"  I  have an  adequate  supply  of  both  ==  They  are  in  dedicated  storage  with  netting  &  Guard  Spiders  on  duty  in  a  remote  corner  of  the workshop  { shed }

    Im not on a CC site so no friendly members to ask Happy.  We were going onto a CL but cancelled as we didn't think our van was going to
    be back in time from the dealer.  Instead we are on a private adults only site with non friendlies.  Indeed it's quite off that a lot of the pitches have unoccupied vans or have Vans with elderly relatives staying in them.

    Elderly relatives are often expert and rather regular users of toilets.

    I meant to type odd not off!  Would you really want to ask someone who is currently polishing his Hitchlock and positioned a stone garden ornament outside the entrance of the awning???  I mean seriously what happened to concerns about Noseweight and Payloads???

    To be honest, I wouldn't worry about for a few days.   Just pick up some next time you are passing the shop.

    We have an old bottle of pink in the cupboard, but rarely use any of it, water seems to work just fine.

    Our previous van had no flush tank, so we keep forgetting about the pink in this van.

    We do not use the pink stuff which is not actually needed. It can leave black bits in the flush and seems more trouble than it is worth. If you clean the toilet regularly that is enough.

    If you want some of the regular toilet fluids can go in the flush which might be more economical.

    Our flush comes direct from our water tank so no additives. No problems. Bowl us wiped out with whatever wipes were on offer.  Been using bio washing pods in the toilet tank, suggested on another thread here on CT they work fine, but we always carry some
    organic fluid as you can't use pods where there are spectic tanks.
