We have purchased a motorhome and have managed to get it insured at a very inflated rate but had no choice.  We also have purchased a small 1987 Westfield car to tow and use once we park the van.  We paid the road tax and didn't realise there would be a
problem to insure the car, even for 3rd party insurance.  Does anyone know who can help us as it looks like we can't use the car at all.  We have even spoken with an insurance broker in person and they said that there is no one that will insure us unless we
were residents!  Surely this isn't ground breaking what we are doing?   There is so little information out there for travellers.  Anyone have any ideas?

As you are CC member have you asked the club's insurance department? Always worth a try.

Bob North used to tour over here, if anyone could contact him he might be able to help.

A few ideas come up if you google Motor Insurance for Overseas Visitors, but I have no first hand experience of them.

Ask Rowenna to put you in touch with Bob North.  He has a car and caravan which he keeps in the UK, so he will have insurance for the car.

I am not a CC member, could join if I knew that would solve the problem. I did spend a day or 2 using google and phoning any insurance co that might do it, just came up with that one. can you drive a motorhome on the road in UK with 3rd party only, and can
I buy 3rd party only? That would be a solution I think. I only found that company and they only offered full insurance.
