Gas & Elec Cert is normally the date of fitment at the factory.

Dealers do have "stock"vans so it could be one of them, the certificates will/should   have been filled in by manufacturer, the spare tyre could be an issue as its coming up for three years old before you get it!!

the tyres would have been bought into the factory at some point before assembly

2 year old spare not too bad with a caravan....although I would want a less than 12 month old one!

The CRIS number /code should give you the year of manufacture, if you know how to read it.

I believe that the CRIS number will only tell you the year of manufacture......see

If the gas test was from only a month ago are you really serious your van might have been a demo?! dealers do carry some stock, not all vans are factory orders. Tyres are bought in bulk by the manufacturers and can be upto 3 yeas old. If you look at a band
new car many of the components are date stamped months before assembly.

Not sure why you would worry about a dealers stock caravan as it should be just as good as a newly delivered one. The electrical certificate on ours was dated December although we only got it in April but it was certainly not dealers stock. We did find the
dust from fitting the front window blinds on the front shelf which would not have been there on a stock model where customers should be shown round. If you buy a car from stock in a showroom you will not get a discount for that so there is no reason for one
    on a caravan.

If you do buy a stock model do check it carefully just to make sure people looking round have not caused any damage but that apart it should not cause any problems.

Show demonstration models should be sold as this and at a discount as rather than a few people having been inside there could have been thousands and wear and a few missing bits are inevitable.  Still if you get enough money off they should be a bargain.
