Abbey wood site and low emission zone charges
Can anyone who has stayed at Abbey Wood site in Greenwich tell me how we go on about it being in a low emission zone? Looking online I can only find a £100 per day charge but surely people aren't paying this to park their motorhomes on site for 3 or 4 nights?!

We use the CL at Newbury Park and that has the same restriction. You need check your registration as above. Don't be tempted to try it as it's £100 PER DAY not just a one off figure.
Newbury Park is a nice site with Underground Station 1 mile away. We take our bikes and lock them up at the station.
They also have hard standing which is great if the weather is bad especially round Christmas. Nice pub next door as well and it's only £11 a night including electric.

i dont know if Davids van is over 3.5t (i suspect its under...) but ours is a 2015 reg 2.3 ltr 150bhp 4250kg van which ive just checked on the web link above.....'compliant'

Don't get too alarmed Suzy. To answer the question you asked. The charge is for every day you DRIVE in the zone. So if it is £100 because you are not compliant then you will pay for the day you arrive and if you do not leave the site until final departure
you will pay it once again so £200 in total. Regards Roy0 -

you will pay it once again so £200 in total. Regards RoyMy understanding is that you pay for the days you are in the zone so its £100 a day even if you leave the vehicle on site. If you want to visit the site I would ring the wardens who should be fully aware of the situation.

I don’t think that is correct Wildwood. If it were then all those vehicles in garages or on dealer’s forecourts would surely be charged as well. The charge is to enable vehicles to drive on the roads within the zone not park on private land and I am
pretty sure the wardens at Abbey Wood told me once that is what the foreign visitors sometimes have to do. Regards, Roy0 -
Wildwood, this is what it says on their web site so you do not pay for when you are parked but note the time a day is measured from, not that you would generally drive over midnight in our hobby. Regards, Roy

The LEZ operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year, including weekends and public and Bank Holidays.
Charging days run from midnight to midnight. So if you were to drive within the LEZ between 23:30 and 01:00 the next day, you'd need to pay for two days.
Vehicles parked in the zone but not driving are not subject to the LEZ requirements for that day.
