I don't want to start a discussion with negatives but just back from a weekend at strathclyde park site and was horrified to be told to stay clear of certain pitches, because They are travelers on the site the site is a new addition to the club and all facilities
are second to none but the constant barking and transit vans running round at all hrs it was a bit unsettling has anyone noticed this on any other sites I will not be returning there until this is resolved

Not much of a discussion if you only want positives, not that I can think of any.

Perhaps best to put your concerns in writing direct to the Club?

There was a controversy on this forum in it's first few months, about
Travellers at Northbrook Farm Caravan Club
site, and I rather think this may have been hinted at in a more recent thread by a contributor to this forum, who wasn't happy about other 'guests' on the site she'd stayed at in Sussex.

I would definitely contact the Club, Buraburas, for the good of all. This should not be happening and the wardens need support.

the wardens did and were very apologetic about it but they said they are club members and could not refuse them but it has changed the dynamics of the club and not for the better I was always under the impression that no commercials were allowed I my be

Perhaps because other Commercial Sites refused them entrance, but as being CC members they could not be stopped by the wardens.

Commercial vehicles are permitted as tow vehicles, Buraburas. The rules were relaxed, or changed, a while back.

I have personal experience of this but with the C&CC. We were running a Rally in North Wales and three Traveller vans arrived and produced what appeared to be valid membership cards. It was not possible to confirm that the cards actually related to the people
producing them as they are not photo cards. They stayed several days and thankfully we only had one minor issue with rubbish. They obviously have access to someone with a permanent address for correspondence, so the site Stewards have a predicament until a
problem develops and then, like any member can be required to leave the site.

yes we also just returned from this site today probably would'nt go back due to the experience, we were also warned by the warden on arrival to stay clear of certain pitches but most concerning was the constant movement of commercial vehicles at all times
of day and night  and fact that our children were scared as they heard movement during the night at side of our caravan which was experienced by others on site. not a site to go back to.

Maybe membership cards with Photo ID is needed in this day and age. This would stop members who flout the rules by passing their cards around to friends or family members?

Would it not be worth posting a review, highlighting your concerns, thereby forewarning other members of the problem?...Cool

I would have thought even though they were CC members, if the site wardens were warning other site users to stick clear of certain pitches and they were causing a nuisance with vehicles back and forth at all times, then they (the site wardens) would have
been within their rights to ask them to leave.

We stayed at the C&CC Oxford site a few years back which had been invaded by travellers.  One booked in and was tailgated by some others.  The Club had them evicted.  When we arrived the enetrace barrier was manned by Security and they would only let any
campers on who had a prior booking.  They did this because the travellers were still in the area and I guess the site and Club didn't want a repeat experience.

.There are a number of club site rules that the wardens could use to eject these people but the only way anything will be done is if there is a complete boycott of these sites by ordinary members

i would do that but I do like the site and if this is a one of then I would not want to blacken the site to others or is this a problem that is creeping in and would like to stop it

Well you do quite often find this on the continent on campsites close to cities/large towns. We personally have never found this to be a problem. They tend to keep themselves to themselves and as they are working hard tend to be in bed and quiet quite early.

You say vans were running around at all hours. Does the site not have barriers which are locked during the night? In any case that is breaking the rules and should have at least been a warning which if not followed could lead to eviction.

I recall a few years ago the Blackpool site had to be closed because of a band of travellers entering the site, in that case I don't think they were members or were willing to pay for their stay.
